DZFireMedic[TK] Posted October 6, 2019 Author Report Posted October 6, 2019 Approved! Just a quick question: how are folks attaching their shoulder mag pouch to themselves? The shoulder strap on the pack? If someone has any pics, please share! Thanks! Quote
Triple D[TK] Posted October 7, 2019 Report Posted October 7, 2019 I've attached mine on the backpack strap and also on the pauldron. I had a snap on the stop of my shoulder strap and then a second around the armpit that attached to the ammo puch with an elastic strap. When I did it on the pauldron I put a snap on the pauldron and it le tit hang. It has worked fine both ways. Ā 1 Quote

I use a small hair tie as an additional strap around my wrist to keep them in the right place , they look like they're almost down over your fingers... That should help close the "gap" too. Otherwise, looking good!Ā 1 Quote
DZFireMedic[TK] Posted October 8, 2019 Author Report Posted October 8, 2019 Started some battle weathering tonight on some accessories...I also figured out the shoulder mag pouch. Took some pointers from some other posts and riveted it to the Pauldron. Seems to work really nice! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
TheRascalKing[TK] Posted October 8, 2019 Report Posted October 8, 2019 (edited) I'm curious how your helmet fits with the pouches there - I mounted mine as low as possible, otherwise I can't turn my head to the left. I also used Line 24 snaps to make it removable instead of rivets. Just some thoughts Ā Weathering looks good! I used @justjoseph63's suggestion and picked up some cheap eye shadow - was amazed at how well it worked too. Ā Edited October 8, 2019 by TheRascalKing 1 Quote

DZFireMedic[TK] Posted October 8, 2019 Author Report Posted October 8, 2019 Well I DIDNT think of that when I did those rivets so Iāll have to check it when I get home Ā Ā Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkĀ Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted October 8, 2019 Report Posted October 8, 2019 Just trial and error, brother.Ā Congrats on your HWT approval, and now that you have weathered that armor I hope to see you apply for Expert Infantry with your HWT!Ā (Hint hint). BTW, if you see Gary, Gary jr, Randy or any of my old Makaze Squad mates on a troop be sure to tell em' Joseph says hello! 1 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted October 8, 2019 Report Posted October 8, 2019 Congrats on approval, I also have pouch attached to strap, gives you a lot more room under the helmet Ā 1 Quote
DZFireMedic[TK] Posted October 9, 2019 Author Report Posted October 9, 2019 I tried on my armor and helmet with the Pauldron with the new mag pouch riveted to the side. I donāt really have much more limitation that I didnāt already have without it. Mainly just more sticky around the chin area because it rubs on the Pauldron instead of the armor, but no big deal. Iāll know more after my first Troop next week. Iāll be taking full body pics for my EIB submission! More weathering incoming!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 Quote
DZFireMedic[TK] Posted October 16, 2019 Author Report Posted October 16, 2019 Okay guys. Battle worn armor coming up:Took some tips from the pros and got some hairspray and charcoal powder from Hobby Lobby and went to town. I know, Iāve heard subtle and lightly worn, but once I got this stuff on and could easily wipe it off with a damp towel, I experimented a little and found the look I like. So far this is what Iāve got:*Also my first troop as a HWT is later today*Thoughts? Thanks guys! Pics from my first HWT troop incoming...Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 Quote
DZFireMedic[TK] Posted October 16, 2019 Author Report Posted October 16, 2019 First HWT troop in the books! No BFG because it was on UCF campus... yes, Chest piece needs adjusting, but hereās my version: 2 Quote
Hotel[TK] Posted October 16, 2019 Report Posted October 16, 2019 Looks fantastic! I initially thought the weathering was a bit heavy, but seeing it all together it really is well done!Ā Ā 1 Quote
DZFireMedic[TK] Posted October 18, 2019 Author Report Posted October 18, 2019 Repurposed DLT-19 carrying case? I think so! A little black to paint over the camo and whammo. Also a new home for patches! Black is always tactical even with white armor! The butt stock sticks out a little when fully zipped up but better than carrying it around by itself.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted October 18, 2019 Report Posted October 18, 2019 Very nice, beats wrapping a towel around with safety pins, which is what I normally do 1 Quote
