I was thinking about this today. I think it would be cool for us to collect as much info about these guys as we can. So here's what IMDB has listed to get us started. Pretty incredible that NONE of these guys are credited. I never realized that there was such an extensive list of extra's that played Stormtroopers in ANH until I visited IMDB. If you find more actors that played stormtroopers in ANH or can add more info to these names I think that would be cool. Maybe we can thank them in some way if we can track them all down. Provided they are still ALIVE!!! :) I am started but need to do a bit more here....I need to sleep now...

Anthony Forrest - Stormtrooper (Move Along Trooper) (uncredited) 1951-

Scott Beach - Stormtrooper Voice (uncredited) 1931-1996

Lightning Bear - Stormtrooper (uncredited) 1947-

Tim Condren - Stormtrooper (uncredited) 19??-2006

Peter Diamond - Stormtrooper (uncredited) 1929-2004

Ted Gagliano - Stormtrooper with Binoculars (uncredited)

Harry Fielder - Death Star Trooper (uncredited) 1940-

Steve Gawley - Death Star trooper (uncredited)

Reg Harding - Stormtrooper (uncredited)

Frank Henson - Stormtrooper (uncredited)

Tommy Ilsley - Ponda Baba (uncredited)

Joe Johnston - Death Star trooper (uncredited)

Colin Michael Kitchens - Stormtrooper (voice) (uncredited)

Cy Town - Stormtrooper (uncredited)

Morgan Upton - Stormtrooper (voice) (uncredited)

Jerry Walter - Stormtrooper (voice) (uncredited)

Bill Weston - Stormtrooper (uncredited)

I know there were 2 female stormtroopers. TE posted the name of one of them a long while back that was found inside of a screen used ANH TK boot I believe.

Nice work Mike

The guys I was thinking of are already on your list.

Note that there were a dozen or so guys in Tunisia too, but have no idea who the names are. However there's the daily sheets they produced which should list most of the people, LFL has them but I dont think have ever released them all - just extracts.

Cheers

There are some in ESB & RotJ that are uncredited aswell, they going on the list? If yes, i've found a few.

Richard Bonehill ... Stormtrooper / Snowtrooper / Rebel Soldier / Tauntaun handler (uncredited)

Chris Parsons ... 4-LOM / K-3PO / Stormtrooper (uncredited)

Dickey Beer ... Barada / Stormtrooper / Biker scout (uncredited)

(Thats for both ESB & RotJ)

Absolutely - we should have a page for this somewhere on the site once we have a good enough list to start. Anyone want to help with the mock-up?

We should see if we can get some of those troopers that are still alive to become honorary members of the 501st as well. :)

Cool guys! Yep I think its a great way to archive the data permanently for us. I think some already are honorary members. Like Lightning Bear I believe.

I will work on this some more.

Good work Mike :)..these guys all played a part in creating a piece of history!!

It would also be great to speak with a number of these and bombard them with questions :D about parts of the armour which could clear up a few points and answer a few questions!!!...such as what is the symbol on the orange pauldron currently being discussed on the MEPD

I vote for making them honorary members of some sort and maybe a joint effort in making them something personalized funded through member donation or something.

Just a thought.

Nice one Tony! :D

Mustn't forget the Tunisian locals used for the Tattooine scenes (ok, so they were TDs). But that would be a real challenge.

You gotta be careful with that. Most of them were extras 30+ years ago and memories fade with time. Also people have asked some of them questions over the years and either Joe Johnston has a really bad memory or lies like a dog.

Lightning Bear is also an honorary member of the Legion.

Here's a few more for the ANH list. Met them at a convention a few years back.

Salo Gardner - Stormtrooper

Mike Mungarven - Stormtrooper

Terence Mustoo - Star Destroyer Crew

Jerry Baker - Imperial Scanning Crew

Stephen Fitzalan - Stormtrooper

Paul Bannon - Stormtrooper

Noel Hawkins - Stormtrooper

Tommy Weldin - Gela Yeens

Had a decent chat with most of them about their SW days... Was interesting to know it was basically a 'free for all' when getting the TK costumes kitted up. Hence the fact most of them had bits missing, not put on right, didn't fit right etc etc..
