I think I'm gonna call it a win on my ears for now. My nerves are still shot from the first time trimming. :icon_eek: I think my biggest problem with the ears is the angle. I'm gonna take a look at them this weekend and really take some time adjusting them. The forearms are perfect as far as getting them over my hands. The problem is after I get them on, my skinny forearms don't hold them anywhere they just slide around. I fixed this by adding a strap from the bicep to the forearm and that made all the difference in the world. They fit just right now and don't wiggle around anymore. Thank you so much for the help. :smiley-sw013:

Fair comment, Erick. However, do bear in mind that changing the angle of the ears would require additional trimming anyway to match up the shape. If you were doing that, trimming down wouldn’t be a huge amount more effort.
Don’t do anything you don’t want to, though. What you have will be fine for basic clearance anyway. :-)

Hand painting my bucket this lovely Friday evening. I've got the first coat of gray on the teeth and the black on the vents. Updates throughout the weekend to come.aac47972208447469644e3203dfd2230.jpgd481de808084739c43e25aa28e2ddeb9.jpgde6d0840e4daf2c7a1b01fcab4ac308d.jpg6c8606225450160fcd7681b66e373cb5.jpg773754e522e941cf6f09b343c4bc36c5.jpg026c8db5c6236497b4ec7602d02ab105.jpg274d4ea5769c6b341aec22d81760213f.jpge0198af392ab31df6d2cdb70a52d0a41.jpg

Just watch you don't go on to the gums, CRL: Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area.

A couple of tips:

If you have excess paint you can remove with tooth picks, works really well.

If you paint the tube stripes and use a template use white paint first, will fill any gaps in case of bleeding.

For black lines if they aren't very straight a cheat is to use a permanent black marker ;)

Looking forward to the progress.

Hand painting the bucket while watching a documentary about star Wars. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday evening. 23d60958fe3338a754af60d9bb24eb0f.jpgb152c8d3531c1bb934da88d5da399e27.jpgc9d8d87ce57bff061efc6b204bd377bf.jpg060ee168ffd79a693054724a424ff407.jpgef271863121877ec61fc8b9f903b7edd.jpgca6b43c2c08d8950b22215b0104459e2.jpg

I don't have pictures yet but...... It looks like my butt piece flares out too much on the sides. Will the belt hold the sides of the butt in or do I have to reshape it? I just don't have a belt yet to try it with. Some pictures I see, the belt covers the gap between the butt and the kidney and some don't.

How is your strapping? Keeping them close to the ends and thighten them up usually helps. The belt is not ment to go over the posterior plate. Here´s some reference for you:salute:

As Daniel suggested having tight elastic close to the ends usually does the trick but for those that still have issues I came up with this tab idea, works well.

Tabs our ABS and @ 1" wide.

Thermal detonator. PVC pipe and some grey paint. I had to sand down the edges and the end peices slipped right on. Now onto the clips. Happy Friday everyone!!5fc1cb8908714e619d927bd9a824794a.jpgbb498f6e02304b4eb834bc983c90be6a.jpgec401ceb91ddec6c7aab1b5cfdd6f8bc.jpgd66299c0821b3c812c31270379866c17.jpg25194cc01436779bd62fcb6615e767bf.jpgcfced24b308169e0a222f241a20761d0.jpg

Hand made custom clips for the thermal detonator. Not as hard as I thought it was going to be. Really fun too!ead1d155b3aa9d4dd7ae9f0250e529c1.jpg6b8c85c5fd739b0f45c08c591a8b4255.jpg53585edfd606aea7b8bf6c000d435940.jpgc4bb53755a32f5b329be787be71f90d1.jpgcbbd1d78c89f9e01953c1a1f495e5bb3.jpgdebb0abbb431553c3c079bd0e94f4a2a.jpg6b0717668a7e3306c4a3106bf5f77bcc.jpg0e1dad697d5932935fe812a985e9fc28.jpg

Very nice work, if you are looking at higher level approvals the TD clips don't have rounded corners on the plate end as seen in the following image.

Thank you! I'm having a very good time! Now if I can just get the damn sewing machine to work right I'll be good.

So after some thinking of how to make stencils I decided to try something different. I printed these out from online in different percentages of size until I found the one that fit the best. I then taped them to the bucket and used a knife to lightly score a line where the lines should be. Then I removed the template and painted the lines with a very thin brush. I think it looks pretty good. Definitely liking my decision to hand paint. Now I just have to figure out how to do the blue. d1cd8f1fa2fd3d2685941c2fd7c133aa.jpg18e1060ab065722a27c59c82530a7a8c.jpg60214a96b08abdcd53f0d451c608df43.jpg88e534779f1fcf1c1bd587436ab1486f.jpge84778e8820a63e38da4c5558d530fcb.jpgc1c19f79200599be165a107d232b6845.jpg

You're absolutely right! This is the picture I went off of. I plan on fixing the clips at some point today. I might even just make new ones. We'll see. Thanks for the input! It's really appreciated. f29a7187e5a1c0248a5b7d1f21be66f7.jpg

Sniper knee and amo belt. Now just gotta paint the rivets white. Just a side note. I muscled the sewing machine into submission! Looks like some strapping is in my future. Keep on keeping on!e0e25c1dd77f60746a878e5de6a03e53.jpg79bd2ba86d19754c4e2f9611a849c784.jpg836bdd40135874dae100070340163f98.jpga95b6feb0049affea44d1109774bcfac.jpg936970e6b140fa12d6cd4e36da7729e4.jpgf8781c2b214a7b15da180e73cfcbb4aa.jpg

So one of the most satisfying parts of the build. When you can peel one long bead of dried glue all the way. Slow and steady. This might help someone not used to E6000 glue. Use alot! More than you think you need. You want a real nice size bead to squeeze out the sides. This helps when its dried. It makes it easier to remove the excess. Hope this helps.2d819fe57fd4dc4620ebee6e522c65f3.jpg262a841742ef3b9612bc2731d3879677.jpg

Some custom sewing. I made a velcro belt to hold up the thighs. Adjustable and secure. Some adjustments needed and I'll be making my belt tomorrow but this was fun. I definitely need a connector in the taint. And some trimming of the kidney plate. BTW, my boots are on order. Pay no attention to the socks. 4788ec3bbbce1902fa8bc19f217e0d1e.jpg3a0403264262269fc20a37b8fd0bc4b7.jpg9bf2684fb264487fea8aeb05236f73ba.jpg0752e1e9c4267c2807c811a2f85d947d.jpg2de38c266ccf3a1605351d40e53732d9.jpg
