TKSpartan[Staff] Posted June 27, 2019 Report Posted June 27, 2019 Hi Max, great to see another trooper applying for EIB. Nice build. For a faster process of your application, I would like to suggest you to add the following in advance, that surely the D.O.S will ask you to post: 1-Close up photos of where your shoulder bridges are connected to the chest, as well as the connection between the chest and back armor. No visible rivets are allowed. Chest and back shall be connected with a white fabric or preferably elastic strap at the shoulders. 2- Close up of rivets inside and outside of thigh ammo strip. Thigh ammo belt is attached to thigh with a solid head rivet, painted white, in the upper corner and fastened to the lower thigh ridge. The rivets used shall be single cap, double cap or split rivets. No pop rivets allowed. Rivet should be approximately 5/16" (8mm) in diameter (exterior). 3- Straight-on photo of the sniper knee (to check alignment) Sniper knee plate must be aligned with the ridges on the shin. Any additional photos or requirements will be indicated by the D.O Good Luck trooper ! Quote

TheSwede[TK] Posted June 27, 2019 Report Posted June 27, 2019 Hi Max and thank you for your EIB application. Before I can comment on any photos missing I need you to clean up the post as many of the photos are not visible, I need them included in the post and not as links - thanks I did however spot an item that needs to be fixed, the tab on the posterior plate needs to be cut roughly as indicated by the blue line and new snaps fitted, look forward seeing the rest of your armor 1 Quote

TheSwede[TK] Posted June 28, 2019 Report Posted June 28, 2019 Hey Max I´m having a hard time making out the coulors on your ab-buttons, they appear very dark. I looked at all the photos shoving the ab plate and also zooming them but to no avail. Including a color scheme as well as a reference image so you can see what we look for Quote
TheRascalKing[TK] Posted June 28, 2019 Report Posted June 28, 2019 Ab buttons were painted with the older-style Humbrol 14 French Blue, not the lighter Testors/Model Master. It was an older can too, so it looks pretty dark with the lighting is all, I think. I think Max is gonna try to take a better-lit photo for ya soon. 1 Quote
Ninety-Nine[TK] Posted June 28, 2019 Author Report Posted June 28, 2019 (edited) @TheSwede - It's pretty hard to photograph and the paint is definitely on the dark side (see what I did there?) to match the darker blue tube stripes included with the AM kit, but it's Humbrol blue and Admiralty Grey. Hope this helps! Edited June 28, 2019 by mpedno 2 Quote

The grey looks fine in that pic (still a bit dark though) but that blue must have been a bad batch or just too old. I`m afraid it´s way to dark to hold muster for Expert Infantry. Sometimes the humbrol paints are no good, I have had a few bad ones during my own builds. I need you to find a better can or try to shake/stir the one you have. You could try a straight on pic first if you like but if you feel the color is dark yourself I´m not too optimistic but worth a shot. Tube stripes are much lighter. Quote
Ninety-Nine[TK] Posted June 28, 2019 Author Report Posted June 28, 2019 No problem! I'll get on that asap 2 Quote
Ninety-Nine[TK] Posted July 6, 2019 Author Report Posted July 6, 2019 (edited) @TheSwede Cut the Humbrol down with some Model Masters. Still doesn't photograph great, but it's much more blue now. Edited July 6, 2019 by mpedno 1 Quote
