My Doopy Doo E11 build

Trying this again, hopefully I can get the photos to work this time . Starting my kit, hoping to get a bit of building experience before the armour arrives. I started off washing everything and sanding down. Tidied up, got rid of the rough edges.

Decided to grind down the resin screw on the handle and put in a real one meaning cutting an existing screw to size

Drilled the hole and put the screw in, thought I'd done a good job until I realised it shouldn't be a cross head screw! I'll try again tomorrow, not a great start

Hi there, no not putting electronics in at this stage, going to keep it fairly simple, just doing the easy mods for now

Yeah, I had trouble seeing them on some of the photos, most of the ones I saw were of the reverse side without the number.

When you switch to a slotted screw for the grip, be sure to position it in the “lock” position (not free). See below;

Pleased with the progress today, I got the correct screw in first

I then drilled the holes for the pin and spring to make a working trigger

Nice job so far, Jim!  If I could make a small suggestion, it would be to sand down the rough edges on the trigger guard and trigger before painting.  The reason being is that these areas will get a lot of use simply from inserting your fingers and cause the paint to wear off, showing the white resin underneath.  Doopydoos makes a great kit, and before long you will have a blaster you can be proud of!!  Keep the photos coming!

More progress made, correct screw installed and pin holes made to connect the handle to the barrel, I'll probably connect those last thing before the painting, seems to be lined up well I think.

Next I drilled out the resin screws at the end of the barrel and glued in 2 chopped off heads in the place, I later got some green stuff to tidy up underneath. I also drilled out the resin screw from the bottom of the handle and screwed in a real one, that at least was nice and easy!

Next I glued in the magazine then came the absolute bloody nightmare that was the scope.... I decided I was going to install a screwdriver head, carefully dremmelled at the top. As you can see I made quite the mess so more green stuff was deployed. I think I saved it

Front scope doesn’t look that bad. Good recovery.

In an ideal work, the hex bolt in the bottom of the grip would be pretty much flush with the grip itself. Looks like you could go another 3mm or so to level it off.

Once that was set I drilled a hole in the barrel so the bottom of the screwdriver head could act as a pin and glued it to the barrel

Lastly for now I glued the d ring on the end cap and pinned the selector switch on the handle. I'm taking a break from it tomorrow to go to Wales Comic con so I'll be looking out those 501st guys!

Only thing i still need to get to hopefully get it through to Centurion level is a counter as I don't think the dummy one that comes will clear. Any ideas on where to get one?

The doopydoos one will be fine for Centurion. In fact, the whole kit is fine for Centurion if done correctly. The areas that are often upgraded are the magazine (DD one is tiny) and the D-ring on the back. These might be mentioned at centurion level as suggested upgrades. :-)
