Buddy Walk is a great event for raising awareness of children with Downs Syndrome.  Last few years the event has been at Woodland Park Zoo which is a great location and pretty central to the Puget Sound area.

Have done Darth Vader before at this event, but noticed that the TKs were far more popular, which is usually the opposite of most events.

I'm the TK behind the scout.  Was unseasonably warm and sunny here, so the snowy next to me was roasting a little bit!

Someday I'll make a snowy for the December and Christmas events, but will need a bigger place than a townhouse to store it.

Raising money for Make a Wish, and helping out a local collectables shop.  They were supposed to have a Vader stuntman from Kenobi, but he unfortunately had COVID and cancelled.

Still was fun seeing people get surprised as they entered the shop.

Lost some weight, and the TK fit much better again!  :)

Event:  Emerald City Comic Con 2023

Date:  03-03-2023 and 03-05-2023

Garrison:  Titan

Emerald City Comic Con 2023 was held in the brand new Seattle Convention Center Expansion building.  It was the first event ever held in that building.  It's a great layout and FAR better than the older Convention Center.  The old Convention Center was a bunch of hallways, escalators, and smaller rooms.  The new building has LARGE concourses around the much larger rooms.  Our space we pretty well situated and had a nice high ceiling and a 'backstage' area that was very open and cool.

Did 4 days in the room, with as an Officer, TK and Vader.   Was fun greeting the people coming though.  We had lines out in the concourse that were really impressive! Was a surprising amount of Star Wars cosplay going on this year, which is really encouraging!  Hopefully we did well on raising funds for Mary Bridge Children's hospital.  Will know soon.

Did a little roaming, but most of the time guarded the Throne (TK on the left of the picture).  Was pretty fun standing still as people came in.  Many were unsure if we were mannequins or actual people, so we let them guess a while and then would surprise them.  Muahaha

Had all types of characters come through.

Occasionally the big boss would come around and check in.

Event:  Yuri's Night Boeing Museum of Flight 2023

Date:  04-09-2023

Garrison:  Titan

Did a previous Yuri's Night as Vader and it was a ton of fun, but decided to white armor this one.  It's a 'dance/night club event' that celebrates sci-fi and Yuri Gagarin's first spaceflight.  The museum is really cool at night and a little surreal with all the people in various costumes.

Group Photo, had a great set of the mud troopers, Scouts and Pilots!  And some dirty rebel scum.

Stuck with the Boss through most of the event.  Also having a Vader it's good to watch his back, as TKs actually have much better vision than a Vader does.

This was the Moon landing display room, and really felt like a "Star Wars" backdrop.

The Museum Auditorium is quite a thing at night.  We usually wrap up about the time people start drinking and dancing.  Staying too long can get very weird real fast, so better to get out of kit and head home.  I'm way too old for the night club stuff anymore.  Bed is much more appealing.

Event:  Make a Wish Birthday

Date:  09-15-2023

Got a last minute pop up for a Make a Wish event for a 6 year old boy who'd beat cancer just recently.  His wish was to fight Darth Vader, and we needed a couple of TKs to assist, so I signed up.  He really was excited and was great watching him clash sabers with our Darth Vader for they day!  Whole family was super excited and the school, Make-a-wish people were very gracious.

After the 'battle' they were off to Disney World in Florida.  So glad the 501st does this work, they wouldn't do this at the park AFAIK.

Unlock the Con's 2nd attempt at hosting Daniel Logan (Young Boba Fett) and Tom O'Connor (Kenobi Darth Vader Stunt man).  Last time around COVID got to them before they could come, but this time was all good!  They were great and gracious with everyone that showed up.  The location was a collectable shop in the Auburn Mall, which was good because it was 31 degrees F that day, and a TK isn't exactly warm.  Being indoors was appreciated!

Daniel and Tom shared a lot of great industry stories and really spent time with folks, which was awesome.

Tom is the one that looks like I have a blaster to his head.  LoL  Daniel is on the far right sitting.

Been a while since I've TK'ed a troop.  Almost exactly a year?!?

Buddy walk is always a great experience.  Kids are really happy to see us, and some of the parents also.  Storm Troopers are always popular at these.

One of the troopers (JD) modified his armor so he can sit, jump, kneel and do all kinds of things.  I tried and found that my set isn't as 'flexible', so will have to find out what he did.

He's able to bend over easily, (plus he's a lot shorter) so let him get the hugs.  😢  I'm the tall one behind him.
