Light in TFA helmet

Hello everyone,

 

I'm new on this forum. I'm living in the Netherlands and currently waiting for my armor of jimmiroquai to arrive.

I have a question about the helmet of a stormtrooper (TFA or TLJ). It has this metallic thing ----------

 

Does anyone know what it is?

I think I have seen it light up in TFA or TLJ like it was a flashlight in a darker scene or that it lights up when stormtroopers speak... 

If it does light up I would like to implement a LED in there to have a cool effect at night as I will be wearing the stormtrooper armor for carnaval.

 

Last year I made the whole suit and gun out of EVA foam, but now looking for a more durable material.

I can't seem to be able to upload it. Neither on Imgur. It's the grey/metallic thing on the helmet on the right hand corner when looking at the front of the helmet.

I have not seen that light up before, it's similar to original Stormtrooper mic tips or aerators

In the alpha 75 it was dubbed a feeding nipple.  No other explaination ever came up for it.  Could be the pressure release, or a hard comms connection in vehicles.
