gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted October 13, 2018 Report Share Posted October 13, 2018 EVENT: Star Wars Reads Day LOCATION: Victoria Park Public Library DATE: Saturday, 13th October 2018 TIME: 1 hour LANDSCAPE/WEATHER: Indoors TROOPERS: TK85421 - Q - gmrhodes13 SL51164 - Stuart - DV64 TK59226 Jerry - jezzapm IG21897 - Johnathon - ImperialKanos WRANGLERS: Marie GA (galactic academy): N/A REPORT: Once we had sorted out who got the VIP changing area we kitted up and waited for our cue. Once received we walked out to the children's area where the event itself would take place, after being well received by staff and visitors we lined up in front of parents and kids some of which were dressed up as well. The librarian running the day who was dressed up as Rey started by reading "Chewy and the Porgs" with some help by a Rebel Pilot who read a few sections and an Imperial Gunner who provided Wookie impressions. After the story had been read (and no porgs harmed) we moved on to Star Wars trivia where the children were asked questions about the characters present and related planets, characters, etc. Following this we each had the opportunity to talk about ourselves and what we do in Star Wars as well as answer any questions the children had, when stormtroopers were asked about target practice they could not remember having any. To finish off there were prizes given by Lord Vader to the children who had dressed up and we broke up for photos with patrons. During this time the stormtroopers attempted to run the reception desk with C-3PO and the Imperial Gunner moving outside to the surprise and confusion of several drivers in the carpark (thankfully no accidents). Soon enough it was time to pack up and head home. Thank you to The Rebel Legion for inviting us along and for Victoria Public Library for having us.
