Nice one. Welcome to the world of RWA armour (I’m very proud of mine) and congrats on your BBB.

If you haven’t already, check out Ross’ tutorials on YouTube. They got me through my build and right the way up to Centurion.

Best wishes
Dan

I have a question on how much i need to sand from the butt plate..

I am always worried if i sand off to much..

Sanding totally depends on you, but no more than 5mm.

For the part the film used armour had very little return if any on most edges.  The notable exception being where they used the wire brackets to join the body sections.

On my armour I've reduced most of my returns to about 3mm ish or less.  The bigger returns reduce the amount of flex you can have in the armour and so tend to lead to cracks forming.

Hi Rat thanks!

Am I thinking right that I can take another 3mm off and be ok?

On the top part I was going to sand so its flat but still have the lip.

I also sanded the TD caps 20mm

I was going to do more but then the power went out...

turns out was a massive fire near me..... helped some old couple get out the way...

All good now and no one was hurt..

Great ! I was worried I would sand too much off.

I have ordered the Mr No Strips Brackets I hope there is enough space  on my kit for them.

I think the minimum for brackets was suggested to me to be at least 8mm.

Depending on where it is reinforcement may be okay, if it is really visible or long some ABS paste may be needed too, a picture helps us help you though.

Hi Dan,

Nice work! Those coverstrips and your lid are looking great!

If you wanted to go a little further with the detailing, here’s a couple of little bits I’ve noticed;

Thigh ammo pack is a little under-trimmed at the moment -

Screen ref;

Also, your frown paint could extend past the in-drilled fifth hole for a little more ANH stunt magic;

Not completely sure if its the angle of the pic but your tube stripes could be closer to the cheek.

A pencil width is ideal from cheek to start of stripe.

Hi Dan

Echoing our other fellow Dan you have a very nice clean build:duim: I also have some small suggestions that I feel would ad to your awesomness - You have very nice painting on the helmet but I would go a bit thinner on the black outline to match screen used ones. Your pinstriping for tears and traps look spot on:)

AZzAWgf.jpg

Regarding the tube stripes they look reversed, they normally lean forward, not something that will hinder any application but thought I mention it. You can read all about the tubes stripes here and compare to your helmet:

Thanks Rat/Dan I am always a bit unsure about the trimming... I over trimmed my bells so had to order some more...

Its good to get the position feedback and trim at the same time...

@CableGuythanks will add the final touch up to the frown i will get this done so looks better..

Yeah will need to check this This is the only area I used the template....

So I understand now from the first strip its a pencils width and in my world a standard pencil is 7mm ? 9/32 gallon , amber , mitta ... is that right?

@TheSwede

Yeah looking at the pics the weight of the line is maybe double... I am going to redo these parts. I think I need to do all of them...

As for the tubes I am going to go over the guide again but question I have is......

The distance from first stripe edge from cheek width is a standard pencil which is 7mm . are pencil sizes the same all over the world this is when I realized I am crazy for this...

I am definitely going to repaint the tube stripes I may even try without the template.

many thanks to all for the feedback please do not hold back the more feedback I get the better my armor.

They may differ some and between makes but roughly they are the same so go with the standard ones you have and test how it looks :duim:
