kwac94 Posted September 29, 2018 Report Posted September 29, 2018 This post will contain pics from my first ever build, TK Shock! I've been told that the Emperor is most displeased with my certain lack of progress. Objective: Ensure the suit is WEAR-ABLE, then work out what needs replacing. I did this for a reason. You will see Velcro, unpainted parts, no rivets, and everything else that deviates from guidelines. It's not my fault! Will update shortly; Regards Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted September 29, 2018 Report Posted September 29, 2018 Looking forward to the progress, good luck Quote
kwac94 Posted September 29, 2018 Author Report Posted September 29, 2018 Team at WhiteArmor, Attempting to post pictures here is turning me into a kowakian monkey lizard. Temporarily, please refer to this link for my first shots of this beginner's build - lmk if the link is broken!https://photos.app.goo.gl/As9pnJHXeJfMimqD9 Note: Of the many items needing attention, where to acquire the needed ROTJ parts is my greatest concern. Any guidance in this regard is welcome! Sincerely kwac94 Quote
kwac94 Posted September 30, 2018 Author Report Posted September 30, 2018 Hi folks, Has anyone noticed that the guidelines for TK Shock involve 'alot' of overlap construction, but although it must be largely ROTJ-styled, the ROTJ trooper itself requires a fair bit of cover strip? Just throwing it out there..hoping not to get confused between the two visual guides. Best, kwac94 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted September 30, 2018 Report Posted September 30, 2018 Some CRL’s have general requirements on references which were available at the time they were just created, if you can provide screen references of how you believe they are constructed changes may be made. Currrently the TKC CRL is being reviewed and there are instances were both styles of construction is shown so there may be an option for both for that costume. Again having screen references is what the CRL’s are based on and when new references are available they can be changed Quote
IcyTrooper[TK] Posted September 30, 2018 Report Posted September 30, 2018 Hiya friend (from the Spec Ops forum as well), I think that you may be getting the 501st CRL basic requirements and the detachment higher levels (L2 & L3) confused. From the looks of it, they allow more than just ROTJ for greater inclusion and for the accuracy push to the detachment level for higher level. I've noticed that with the MEPD Magma Trooper (Battlefront) as well, which is nice. Correct me if I'm wrong though! As long as you satisfy the basic requirements I wouldn't see any issues with the direction you are going with it. Who made the armor that is in the pics? You may try Walt's Trooper Factory for some of the ROTJ parts if you are going that route. Quote
kwac94 Posted October 1, 2018 Author Report Posted October 1, 2018 Thank you everybody, for your thorough response(s)!@gmrhodes13 OK, time for me to make a second pass on references. This is the reason for no adhesives used yet;@IcyTrooper Yes, that's possible. I don't have a lot of info about the armor, but it's from one of the first instances in which measurements were permitted to be taken in the Archives. You may know more about that history than myself. Finally I grabbed the Anovos TK Shock helmet which, ironically, is ANH I think... Will do, thanks! 1 Quote
kwac94 Posted October 8, 2018 Author Report Posted October 8, 2018 UPDATE: Review of original Shock Trooper model is in-progress; Question, why does it seem like I have an ESB set but with the single posterior section (as opposed to the separate posterior sections)…? My understanding was they made 50 new troops for ROTJ. Is that right? If any of the ESB troopers were brought into ROTJ as backups, this may be based on one of those. Quote
kwac94 Posted November 1, 2018 Author Report Posted November 1, 2018 UPDATE: Thanks for your guidance folks! This month yielded a particularly successful fitting and stress test over a couple kilometers. You can see the image for details. Hope everyone had a pleasant and spooky Halloween! Quote
