bradberry00 Posted September 27, 2018 Report Posted September 27, 2018 (edited) Ok, I will admit it...I am more of a Star Wars prop guy than an armor builder. And I am very passionate about accuracy. In the quest for the perfect R1 E-11, I have sourced most of what I believe to be screen accurate — Airsoft Sterling, Flashlight, DoopyDoo's M38 Scope, Power Cylinders...all but two things the Hengstler counter and the t-tracks. I am up in the air on the counter (real or resin?) and most the t-track out there does not have the right profile or is made from rubber...but, I think I have stumbled upon a t-track option that is VERY close to screen accurate. A t-track that has the wide and tall center spine as seen on the R1 blaster. Now there is one issue. The supplier is in the UK and, though I am still waiting to hear back from them, it looks like they may not ship to the US. Would there be — A: Enough interest from you all to order a quantity of this. B: Someone in the UK willing to be the middle man... I 3D printed a sample based on the dimensions supplied by the manufacturer, mockup attached. ------------ Edited August 2, 2021 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed 1 Quote
T-Jay[TK] Posted September 27, 2018 Report Posted September 27, 2018 Hi David. Your 3D-printed T-track seems to be accurate from what I can see so far. Not sure if you have come across this thread from Henry (@SlyFox740) but he really did a great job with his R1 Blaster Reference. As for the counter, this topic is also covered in his thread and there is Dennis @TK-50101 Blue Snaggletooth who built a very nice R1 replica here. Dennis also offers Hengstler counters on ebay, including a R1 version. So your R1 blaster could get completed soon. Quote

Here is what I have so far: — Beta Project Airsoft from Evike. (I am not sure if that is the exact make but all the details look the same. ) — Element M300A Flashlight — Visually accurate Piccadilly scope rail (for the flashlight) — DoopyDoos Scope — Field Marshall replica power cylinders. SlyFox740[TK] Posted December 14, 2018 Report Posted December 14, 2018 Well as coincidence would have it; Today I believe I actually discovered the source of the T-Track that prop makers used in Rogue One. It’s mass produced from a U.K. based company and it appears to be the exact same T-Track that Andrew Ainsworth cast into his plastic/foam Shepperton Design Studios E-11 as I pointed out in my ROGUE ONE E-11 BLASTER REFERENCE I will be ordering this T-Track in bulk and offering it for sale here on Whitearmor in the near future if all goes as planned. SlyFox740[TK] Posted May 3, 2019 Report Posted May 3, 2019 (edited) Yesterday I discovered a good source for Rogue One T-Track. Tubeway Sales LTD. is a wholesaler and you can only buy large quantities directly from them. I found a distributor offering smaller amounts specifically pre-cut into six 8” pieces for a Rogue One E-11 Blaster Build; https://www.3d-props.com/shop/hardware/ Edited May 21, 2019 by SlyFox740 Quote
JasonG Posted April 13, 2021 Report Posted April 13, 2021 Sorry to revive and old thread, but I just thought I would mention that I've posted 3D STL files for R1 style T-Tracks here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4826975 They are as close as I can get based on photos and measurements. I've included varying lengths and a small stub part that you can size to your needs. Hope that helps someone. Quote

Also super deceiving showing images of the real thing for your 3D printing files, you literally used my photo of my hand holding my T-Track. Lol Most importantly 3D printing is not accurate if that’s what you’re going for, not at all! Why not get the exact same real T-Track that was used on the original prop? It’s available and still being manufactured, you can buy it here just scroll down to the bottom; https://www.3d-props.com/shop/hardware/ Edited June 3, 2021 by SlyFox740 Quote

I don't even think I realized it was there and didn't really add anything by being there. Again, my apologies. By showing the real thing, I'm trying to show what I modeled it after, not what they actually are. That's why I said in the description "The attached photos are reference photos from screen used E11 in Rogue One". I was never trying to deceive anyone. I actually mentioned reference photos several times. Also, people in this community use the resources that they have at their disposal. In many cases, 3d printing is cheaper for people and easier to do especially if you have a 3d printer and know how to model things. I'm not trying for 100% accurate to the screen used props. I am trying to model things that look as close as possible. In some cases, items are just very expensive and if people want to save money and have a 3d printer, what's the problem with that??? In other cases, items are just extremely hard to find or were fabricated for the props. It makes perfect sense to me to print a piece of plastic that looks exactly like the screen used prop for cents rather than spending a hefty sum on trying to replicate a part on a prop. I've done a few other models and print files for other parts that people may have a hard time locating or just would rather print depending on their build: Thermal Detonator with Screw off Cap - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4875306 Elements Flashlight - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4840809 E11 PowerCells - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4834175 Hengstler Counter Small Eagle Plate - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4829947 E11 T Tracks - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4826975 The 3d Props website is using the T-Track measurement photo from the original https://www.tubewaysales.com/ website, by the way. You can say that 3d printing is not accurate at all, but then people are printing entire suits of armor for some CRLs because the only way they can do it. Many MANY people have 3d printed their Rogue One TK helmets. So none of them are accurate? Again, my apologies. Quote
