kashim Posted August 29, 2018 Report Posted August 29, 2018 Howdy all! I recently got myself a bucket and I want to hydro dip it camouflage. I have a few questions. 1. Do I need to prime paint it in a color close to the camouflage? like using this https://www.amazon.com/The-Army-Painter-CP3005-Primer/dp/B005C3CSAU/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1535583474&sr=8-18&keywords=green+primer+spray+paint . 2 Which of the camo patterns should I use? https://www.fractalcamo.com/store/p100/Rhodesian_Tiger_Stripe_Camouflage_Pattern.html https://www.fractalcamo.com/store/p111/Tiger_Stripe_Camouflage_Pattern.html Here's a pic https://www.deviantart.com/kashim27/art/My-Bucket-precamoed-761726420?ga_submit_new=10%3A1535586410 Thanks you all in advance! Frank75139[501st] Posted August 30, 2018 Report Posted August 30, 2018 I’m not sure about priming but I really like the first pattern of that helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
kashim Posted September 2, 2018 Author Report Posted September 2, 2018 (edited) I think I will use the first one too. New questions. What's people's opinion on smoked plexiglass for the eye piece? when hydro-dipped can I apply spray paint to the new coating or do I have to apply the top coating first? Also can I apply latex to rub off bits of the camo to make battle damage/ wear and tear? Edit: could I get this topic moved to the Assembly, Mods, and Painting forum? Edited September 3, 2018 by kashim why add a new post? Quote

Commander Gree[501st] Posted September 4, 2018 Report Posted September 4, 2018 I don't think you need to paint at all for hydro dipping do you? I have seen people put all kinds of stuff through hydro dip and nothing looked "prepped" other than cleaned. Quote
kashim Posted September 4, 2018 Author Report Posted September 4, 2018 (edited) Well I want to paint the t-slot yellow after I camo it. I even have a pic of what I want it to look like in general. https://www.deviantart.com/jdfb422/art/Arc-in-Rhodesian-camo-and-with-military-gear-741758758 Edited September 4, 2018 by kashim 1 Quote
sharkbait[TK] Posted September 4, 2018 Report Posted September 4, 2018 I know nothing of hydro dipping, but I think the first pattern would have the most effect. A smoke colored lens would fit well with that color scheme, as well. Quote
