FodiChan[TK] Posted August 23, 2018 Report Posted August 23, 2018 (edited) Okay here we go....I'm nervous as heck but finally ready to submit my application for EIB. Name: Nicole Anderton TKID: 42715 FISD Username: FodiChan Garrison: Timberline Height: 5'6 Armor Maker: ATA Blaster: DoopyDoos Boots: TK Boots Belt: DIY Hand plates: justjoseph63 Neck Seal: DIY Holster: DarmansProps I'm not sure on the length of the shoulder bridges. My GML said I could leave them or trim them, so I'm leaving them until told otherwise. A bit unconventional connection for the neck seal- it is attached with elastic so that there is give when I bend my neck. I found that when I had that extra stretch it cut down on anxiety and claustrophobia. Edited August 23, 2018 by FodiChan Quote
TK-40996[TK] Posted August 24, 2018 Report Posted August 24, 2018 Hi Nicole ! Great work on that armor ! Looking good ! Can I ask you what the white thing is under your shoulder Bell ! Goodluck with your application for EIB !! Godspeed trooper !!! Quote

justjoseph63[Staff] Posted August 24, 2018 Report Posted August 24, 2018 Hi Nicole, and great job on that ATA armor! One of us will be with you shortly, but before we can proceed we need a few small favors from ya'. Please add the required full back photo to your post above. Since you will have to suit up for this, I would suggest replacing the main photo with one reflecting the following recommended issues (all should be straightforward easy fixes) below in photo 1. Also, we will need you to move the ears on your bucket back a bit. (Photo 2). Although this issue is not specifically listed in the CRL, it is screen accurate and should only take a few minutes to adjust. Levels 2 and 3 are all about going above and beyond, and you are almost there, Trooper! There are a few other small issues, but those can be addressed later. SUPER job on those ab/kidney connections and that TD! I have every confidence that you will do a great job on these small issues, and I look forward to seeing that EI badge below your name soon. Photo 1 1. Biceps should sit at the same level 2. forearm can be lowered, reducing that gap. 3. Belt needs to sit a bit higher, covering the bottom of the large ab-button box. This is a requirement for L3, which I am sure you will be aiming for! Photo 2 Reference image Quote
FodiChan[TK] Posted August 24, 2018 Author Report Posted August 24, 2018 (edited) Thanks for the input! I will get to work on those issues. I can't believe I forgot to post the full back shot!! EDIT: I think I also uploaded the bad pic of the biceps. I think in the one I posted, the right bicep had slipped out from the elastic band and that is why it looks crooked. My sweet husband has been taking pics for me and doesn't really know what to look for, and it looks like I missed that as I was browsing through those hard-to-see photo thumbnails. T-Jay[TK] Posted August 26, 2018 Report Posted August 26, 2018 Hi Nicole, great looking armor. Joseph already stated the points to work on and I am sure you will soon be approved and can go ahead for the L3 application. On 8/23/2018 at 6:45 PM, FodiChan said: If you plan to use this armor for trooping, I would kindly suggest to rebuild the clips from your thermal detonator. They are very thin. Just yesterday I attended a troop and watched a fellow TK standing with his back towards a simple barrier tape. When he walked away, the thin plastic tape was tangled up with his TD, so it got ripped off his belt and dropped to the floor. Luckily undamaged. When I picked it up to add it to his belt again, I noticed the clips were very thin - like on your TD. Quote
A.J. Hamler[TK] Posted August 27, 2018 Report Posted August 27, 2018 Tino's right, Nicole. Those TD belt clips are really thin. But instead of rebuilding them, do yourself a favor and get some from Ukswrath. They're top-notch. A.J. Quote
A.J. Hamler[TK] Posted August 27, 2018 Report Posted August 27, 2018 (edited) Also, don't forget to add a bit of "fuzzy" Velcro (not the "hooky" Velcro) to the back of the clips. That'll keep the clips from scratching up your armor. A.J. Edited August 27, 2018 by A.J. Hamler typo Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted August 29, 2018 Report Posted August 29, 2018 Great work so far, Nicole. :-)Did you have any joy with a photo from the back yet? Also, if we could just ask for a slightly clearer/closer shot of the rear sight on your blaster, please:Dan Quote
FodiChan[TK] Posted September 11, 2018 Author Report Posted September 11, 2018 Pics as requested. Sorry for the delay, had other obligations to attend to. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted September 12, 2018 Report Posted September 12, 2018 Hi Nicole, and thank you for your ANH-Stunt EI application. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required submission photos have been posted, and I am very pleased to announce your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantryman (well, Infantry lady? ). On behalf of the Deployment team, congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. You’ve made a really tidy job of your armor, so the following are mainly “dressing” issues that could be easily adjusted. The following suggestions will help to take your armor another step closer to its on screen counterparts. Starting from the lid. In a few photos, the brow seems to have raised up quite a bit. We would suggest a nice even brow, possibly secured if required. Reference: The frown paint on the majority of ANH stunt helmets extended a little past the un-drilled 5th tooth. This is a really easy addition which would add to your accuracy. Example: Reference You could consider refining the tube stripes a little. As it stands, they are a little wide in comparison with screen used ANH tube stripes. As Joseph suggested, we would recommend adjusting the position of your left ear. Whilst you've made a nice job of the neck seal, it is quite different in appearance (and the materials used) to the screen used neck seals and we would suggest swapping it for something a little more accurate for level 3. I understand what you mentioned about having a little more room around the neck by having the elasticated fastening, with regards to a hint of claustrophobia. As such, I would recommend making or ordering a neck seal at least one size larger than you need. By the time you have your balaclava, neck seal and lid on, the extra size around the neck is unlikely to show, but will give you breathing room around the neck. Example We would suggest keeping a close eye on your shoulder bells. It appears that they have a tendency to twist outwards in certain photos, leaving a bigger gap around the chest/back area (depending on the photo). Checking your internal fixings would be a good start to see why they're moving. Example of shoulder bells/gaps: Raising the waist ammo belt to just covering the ab buttons will add to the look. Reference: Also, the smaller of the ab buttons should be a little smaller (possibly the bigger one, too): Reference: It looks like the outer edges of your ammo belt are lifting away from the canvas belt. Usually, the plastic ammo belt would be connected to the caves belt with fixings underneath the square plastic tabs. If there are no fixings there, this would be highly recommended. Evening out the arm spacing will really help to improve the overall look. It looks like simply raising the your right bicep a couple of inches should help out there. As your fellow troopers mentioned, keep an eye on those thermal detonator clips to see how they hold up to trooping. If they show signs of weakness, possibly consider changing them to something a little more hard wearing. This is not an issue for level 3, just an observation. Centurion Suggestions: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. More detailed photos will be required when you go for Centurion and will allow us to look at the finer details, however, from what we can already see a really easy fix would be to adjust the position of the drop boxes. These should line up nicely with the edge of the ammo belt, as seen here: Reference: Also, for L3 you'd want to keep an eye on the back/kidney gap. Reference It looks like Centurion was in mind when you started this build and you've done a great job so far. We look forward to seeing your Centurion application soon… Quote
