Question about attaching belt face to canvas belt

I've posted a number of these little nit picky questions, but I need help, and maybe they'll help other nubes like myself.  Anyway, I am looking to attach my plastic belt face to the canvas belt.  I read on another post that someone used jean buttons.  Has anyone used these, or a similar type of button?  I want something to hold firm, but not too difficult to attach, or would scratch the abdomen plate like a rivet.

Never heard of using those, but some single (or double) cap rivets work well and are fairly easy to apply.

As we suggested on FB, I'd look into Chicago screws first.

I suggest using Chicago screws, double cap or pop rivets.

I used snaps. this way I can separate the belts if I need to do any work on one or the other. also can interchange them if ever needed. say I can double the cloth belt for something else.
