MFJ Posted May 23, 2018 Author Report Posted May 23, 2018 I'm aware the decal is backwards just checking if this is the correct spacing. I don't have a pencil. Quote
TheSwede[TK] Posted May 23, 2018 Report Posted May 23, 2018 Happy BBB-dayand yes the spacing is correct (pencil-width)Ā Looking forward seeing yourĀ build Quote

Pretzel Posted May 23, 2018 Report Posted May 23, 2018 Congratulations on your BBB Craig. Your spacing looks perfect, but yes.. please flip that around before applying. Making me nervous 1 Quote
MFJ Posted May 23, 2018 Author Report Posted May 23, 2018 (edited) First screw up. Right side turned out fine.Ā Left side is screwed up. I guess I need to order more decals now Ā Edited May 23, 2018 by MFJ Quote
Frank75139[501st] Posted May 23, 2018 Report Posted May 23, 2018 I went through a few pairs of decals and a masking templet. Itās a pain. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
hollowbodies[501st] Posted May 23, 2018 Report Posted May 23, 2018 (edited) Grats on your BBB! You'll see, thoseĀ kits are awesome! Good luck on your build and keep up the good work! Ā Don't worry, (almost) any misktake can be corrected. At least decals are easier to remove and modify than paint! ;P Edited May 23, 2018 by hollowbodies Quote
Twosolitudes[TK] Posted May 23, 2018 Report Posted May 23, 2018 Congrats on your BBB! Ā Of all the possible things that can go wrong, this is the least of your worries.Ā Ā Take your time, read the other build threads, ask questions, and enjoy the journey. Quote
wook1138[TK] Posted May 23, 2018 Report Posted May 23, 2018 Yep, I screwed up my tube stripes too.Ā It is almost a rite of passage to be a TK.Ā 1 Quote
MFJ Posted May 23, 2018 Author Report Posted May 23, 2018 Honestly I'm not worried about the cutting part. I put on decals everyday though!!!! LOL That's the bad part Quote
GilFran007 Posted May 23, 2018 Report Posted May 23, 2018 Paint em in with some French blue enamel Ā You guys are lucky though....TK Centurion level allows for decals that simulate hand painting.Ā Sandy's have to paint their tube stripes in.....someway....somehow....lol Quote

Which is probably the route I'm going to go. I'm doing all of the electronics in the helmet now. Then I'll run and grab paint. 2 Quote
MFJ Posted May 23, 2018 Author Report Posted May 23, 2018 So I attempted to fix it.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ukswrath Hovi tip speakers Quote
CableGuy[Admin] Posted May 23, 2018 Report Posted May 23, 2018 Looking good so far. :-)If you are going to apply new tube stripe decals or paint stencils/templates, feel free to stick up some pictures of them before you do. It looks like the ones youāve applied could be on the opposite cheeks. The furthest front Stripe usually gives this away. :-)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
MFJ Posted May 23, 2018 Author Report Posted May 23, 2018 Yeah. I'm going to paint them all. It'll look more authentic. I have the stencils here. I'll post a picture.Ā 18 minutes ago, CableGuy said: Looking good so far. :-) If you are going to apply new tube stripe decals or paint stencils/templates, feel free to stick up some pictures of them before you do. MFJ Posted May 24, 2018 Author Report Posted May 24, 2018 Thank you Mark for getting this to me so quickly! You don't know how much I really appreciate it. All of the anxiety over cutting, the smell of E6000, the crap all over my hands, plastic shavings everywhere and most of all, fulfilling a dream I've had since I was just a kid.Ā 2 Quote
68Brick[TK] Posted May 24, 2018 Report Posted May 24, 2018 Congratulations on your BBB Day! Ā Post lots of questions and pictures. Will you be going for EIB or Centurion? Quote

Will you be going for EIB or Centurion? he real question I have now concerns the forearms and biceps. The forearms fit but they're hard to get over my hands. Now they are just rough cut so I can remove some material to make them a bit wider at the front if that's acceptable. There are no return edges on ANH forearms that I'm aware of. My second question is the exact shape that the biceps should be. Everything seems to be going pretty quickly. I did use the standard 5/8th's for the arms and 7/8ths for the legs. Ā 1 Quote

Yep, no return edge at the wrist of the forearm (screen used example shown below).Ā You can remove the return edge at the elbow too, but it is not a requirement for approval.Ā The build is coming along very nicely! Great. That'll free up some room there. Not bad for a couple of hours this morning. Now I'm about to get back on it.Ā 1 Quote
