black-eyedtrooper Posted May 5, 2018 Report Posted May 5, 2018 Hi all, I haven't been here for a few years now but some time ago I bought ANH TK bucket from Mike (TK-4510). It has never trooped and has been in my display cabinet with little sunlight since I bought it but over the last few years it has yellowed noticeably. Does anyone know what I can do to whiten it up again? Thanks Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted May 5, 2018 Report Posted May 5, 2018 I know that a lot of Troopers have had success with this, Dean: https://trooperbay.com/trooperbay-armorwhite-plastic-whitening-gel Quote
themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted May 5, 2018 Report Posted May 5, 2018 Google retrobrite, but the tl;dr of it is apply some high concentration hydrogen peroxide creme. Wrap it in cling wrap, this stops it drying out. Now leave in the sun for a few hours turning occasionally to ensure even exposure, seeing as you're in Australia use appropriate caution about how hot that sun actually is! Rince thoroughly with water. This should work but I've yet to try it my self, though I probably will need to by the end of the year. Quote
Pretzel Posted May 5, 2018 Report Posted May 5, 2018 Fingers crossed. I hope these suggestions work out. Quote

tk-5059[TK] Posted April 23, 2019 Report Posted April 23, 2019 I've heard the whitening process can make the plastic brittle. Is there any truth to this? Quote
phil Posted April 23, 2019 Report Posted April 23, 2019 I used car T cut to remove yellowing on my armour Quote
