Aevith Posted March 25, 2018 Report Posted March 25, 2018 (edited) Hello Everyone, The past week the first parts for my E-11 Blaster came in! Time for me to start a thread! So this week my first boxes started to arrive. I decided to start building the E-11 while waiting for my RS kit to arrive. I plan on finishing the E-11 first to get familiar with all different types of materials and tools like the Dremel. My first boxes! Doopydoos Kit. Doopydoos Kit. T-Jay kit. Doopydoos & T-Jay Kits side by side. The place where I'll be spending most of my time from now on. After checking if all the parts were present, it was time for them to take a bath. I decided to start with the parts that were the easiest in my opinion. Drilling the resin to replace the screw. Replacement screw insalled. Ready to Dremel the locking screw. Readt to install te real screw. Screw installed. I'll be looking for a replacement for this screw because I want it to be a little bigger. Next up: Hole drilling. Marking the centre of the holes. Pre-drilling with small drill. Step-by-step enmarging the holes. Cleaned up drill holes and the locking mechanism of the folding stock. Detail look of the holes. Started to open up the holes where the t-tracks grasp behind the holes. I'll probably be putting some more work in the E-11 today. I'll keep you guys updated! Ha, that wallpaper on your laptop is on my desktop, too. Off to a great start. Following... Ouh, that black screw in the bottom of your grip was meant to go into the front muzzle. Aevith Posted March 29, 2018 Author Report Posted March 29, 2018 Hello, Time for a litte update! this week I received parts from Dennis Blue Snaggletooth to recreate the counter. I also have been working on removing and replacing some parts from the trigger group with custom made aluminum replacement parts. This was a looooooot of work! It took me several hours to get it to fit nicely. I'm currently working on the other side of the gun to do the same. And there is more news! I received my UPS tracking this week and today me RS Propmasters kit will be arriving! However I instructed myself to finish the blaster first before starting to work on the armour. 1 Quote

Aevith Posted April 1, 2018 Author Report Posted April 1, 2018 Hi, Time for another update! Progress has been going slow, but I have obligated myself to take this build slow. Installed the second metal plate and am looking into covering the other trigger parts with tin aluminum Still looking for the right screw to serve as selection screw. Sanded and ready for replacement. Installed a little piece aluminum to keep the D-ring from moving and rattling. And installed the front blobs with the right screws. This week it was also time for BBB-Day! Was very excited for this! Some parts came in cracked so I have contacted RS Props for replacement. Was not very happy with the gloves either. Quote
T-Jay[TK] Posted April 2, 2018 Report Posted April 2, 2018 Very sorry to hear about the broken parts in your BBB. There must have been some real rough treatment to that box during shipping process. Keeping fingers crossed for the replacements from RS now. For the gloves you could contact @justjoseph63 and check out his hand plates... Good progress on your blaster build. Already loving your trigger group with the aluminum inlays. Regarding the LOCK/FREE-screw in the grip: the screw in the completion set has the correct shape and size. The original screws are a bit smaller than the opening in the grip. Here is a link to the Blaster Reference. Aevith Posted April 11, 2018 Author Report Posted April 11, 2018 (edited) Time for another update! It has been a while, but I have used all my free time for building and forgot to write updates! Started working on the Front Sight Carefully cutting with a small hacksaw. Glad this part was over! It took me about an hour! Added the Pin and Knurling Pattern. Bolts from the folding stock - BEFORE Bolts from the folding stock - AFTER Reinforced the End Cap Placed the D-Ring on the End Cap Star Wars Identities finally in Belgium! Can hardly wait! My son wants to be a Jawa! I'll know what to do when I'm done with my Blaster and Armor! Couldn't be more happy to share this moment with my son! Always start with the easy stuff! Starts to look like something! Recreated the Coil in Adobe Illustrator Printed and cut out. Looks good, but not real enough! Sanded some plexiglass. And voila! Looks much more realistic in my opinion. Pretty happy with the result! But then Dennis told me this window and side wall were all wrong... Back to scratch then... Coil side 2.0 Thank you Dennis Blue Snaggletooth for all the parts, information and reference pictures! I'll try to update sooner on the further progress of my build! Until next time! Found a Hengstler 400 on the internet this week. Put it together with the parts from Dennis Blue Snaggletooth this evening. Aevith Posted May 30, 2018 Author Report Posted May 30, 2018 Hi all, It's been a while since I have been able to find the time to work on the blaster and post my progress. At this moment I am very busy with finding a new job and have been very busy with my portfolio and job interviews. The past days I have been able to rip myself away from the computer and continue my blaster build! Time for a big update! First of all I had to move from my loft space because it was getting very hot up there. I took me residence in the downstairs garage now and must say I'm happy with the change of scenery. First thing I started working on in the new space was the folding stock. Next I put some extra work in the spaces between the t-tracks and the main body. Added the bayonet lug Inner bolt, plunger and extractor Next up: The magazine Waited with the telescope for a long time because I knew it was going to be hard. Big gap because I got really stressed and forgot to take pictures. Need to clean the joint with the front lens. Added some detail to the rear sight. Modifications to the end cap clip. Everything coming together for the first time! Still a lot of work to do, but the end is in sight! Very happy with the result so far! I'll try to post my updates sooner! Until next time! 1 Quote
T-Jay[TK] Posted May 31, 2018 Report Posted May 31, 2018 Hi Kevin, great to have you back, posting again. Awesome job done on the folding stock, scope and the smaller pieces. The only thing that I would re-check is the width of the clearing stripe on your inner bolt. And the LED sticks out a bit too far in your magazine top plate. That should be easy to correct with some washers. Please don't feel pushed, it's just us here at FISD, wanting you to get the best out of your resin kit. 2 Quote

I was indeed not completely happy with the led but as I'm closing to the end I'm trying to correct all the little defects. Thanks for the tips! Quote

Unfortunately I can not provide an exact measurement at the moment, as my digital calliper is currently unavailable. But it should be around 5.5 mm wide. Maybe someone else can chime in to help. And for the LED: just add washers, so it only sticks out about 1mm or less. On an original Sterling magazine you can push this button to slide off the top cover and access the spring powered loading mechanism. 1 Quote
