XNtr3k Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 I'm thinking of building an E-11 Blaster from scratch and am considering materials. What kind of adhesives (glue, epoxy, etc) do you guys use for any kinds of material, like metal, plastic, PVC, etc. Things like metal to metal, plastic to plastic, plastic to metal, etc. If you had to build a blaster or some other armor prop (ANYTHING!) from scratch using whatever materials you wanted with whatever adhesive you wanted, what is your sticky of choice? XNtr3k Posted August 20, 2008 Author Report Posted August 20, 2008 Where do you get E6000? I saw you recommend it on other posts, but so far I haven't found it on the couple sites I've been browsing. Ah, here we go. I think I found their website. Quote

I found it at my local crafts store - pretty cheap. Quote
XNtr3k Posted August 20, 2008 Author Report Posted August 20, 2008 Yeah, just found it on the Hobby Lobby site, so they might have it. Looks like neat stuff, though. So is it consensus that E-6000 is the glue to use? Quote
SuperTrooper Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 Even Wal-Mart now carries E-6000 in their sewing section for about a third less than the regular craft stores. Quote
ThayNerd[TK] Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 Looks like it was already posted, but I usually get it at a craft store or the hardware store. Quote
SuperTrooper Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 Oh yea, for metal to metal try JB weld. There is no stronger. Quote
XNtr3k Posted August 21, 2008 Author Report Posted August 21, 2008 Okay, thanks. I grabbed some E-6000 today. Also wound up getting PVC to construct a blaster from scratch > We'll see how well the E-6000 does for me when I get to that point. I'll keep JB Weld in mind. Quote
XNtr3k Posted August 21, 2008 Author Report Posted August 21, 2008 OW! My finger! Was pulling on a dry 'string' of E-6000 that was hanging between two pieces of a blaster barrel, and it snapped and whipped my fingertip. E-6000 is an adhesive that means business. Quote

It's good stuff! Always good that have a tube or two around the house. Quote
XNtr3k Posted August 21, 2008 Author Report Posted August 21, 2008 Yeah, so far I like it when it isn't kicking my an impolite person. Quote
XNtr3k Posted August 22, 2008 Author Report Posted August 22, 2008 Here is a follow up for you E-6000 guys: Which E-6000 do you use? I've got a tube of the 'Clear Transparent'. Stuff feels like rubber cement while its drying. I know they also make one that looks like bondo that can be sanded when dry. Quote
langy Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Where in the U.K. can i get this? Somebody mentioned wal-mart, (Although in the U.k. it's now called ASDA - wal-mart,) Is it still available? How much does it cost? Quote
