Black series is usually pretty close to scale. This is more the collector line like the lightsabers and helmets are 1:1.

It does look much better in this photo

 

 

I'd say with the thumb on the trigger it's functional, well at least lights but would be awesome if the arms swung open.

Hasbro just unveiled this Black Series Force FX Z6 Riot Control Baton at their expo, with a "Fall 2018" release. I'm figuring probably Force Friday. No price given, but I've seen folks project it'll be in the same range as their Black series Force FX Kylo Ren lightsaber -- $150-$200.
