Rat[TK] Posted January 24, 2018 Author Report Posted January 24, 2018 Happiness! Isn't it great when it fits like a glove without doing anything more then adding coverstrips! Compliments to your tailor! It is nice and I think my trimming will be minimal for the shins as well.Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk Quote
Rat[TK] Posted January 25, 2018 Author Report Posted January 25, 2018 So came across the the cause of my forearm issue. It's a stupid mistake, but not unfixable. Was double checking my biceps and decided to run numbers on the forearms again and found that the right one, being my issue, is 3/16th's / 10mm smaller. However if I heat it and reshape it it will be good. Unfortunate, but not irreversible.Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk Quote
Rat[TK] Posted January 26, 2018 Author Report Posted January 26, 2018 So preparing to trim the front of the thighs, but not sure if I've got my lines straight. Does this look right? Also do you think I've got enough room for the brackets?Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted January 26, 2018 Report Posted January 26, 2018 Thigh looks good as long as there roughly 10mm at the thinnest return edge area. 2nd photo, cutting it a little close. You might want to consider reinforcing the inside with left over cover strip material. Similar to this. 1 Quote
Rat[TK] Posted January 26, 2018 Author Report Posted January 26, 2018 Yeah I figured I would have to do something for reinforcing, Daryl said this early and well it's not good to argue with one of the people that says you're good or hey fix this and it good. The thigh is indeed measures at 10mm top to bottom, triple and quadruple checked.Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk Quote
Rat[TK] Posted January 26, 2018 Author Report Posted January 26, 2018 So I think the shins will be good with either no trimming or minimal trimming. Not sure yet, I do know that the upper knee section needs none.Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk Quote
Rat[TK] Posted January 26, 2018 Author Report Posted January 26, 2018 Testing the thighs and shins. There really isn't a whole lot of wiggle room.Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk Quote
TheSwede[TK] Posted January 26, 2018 Report Posted January 26, 2018 1 hour ago, Rat said: So I think the shins will be good with either no trimming or minimal trimming. Not sure yet My advise is to try and comform the shins as much as possible to your leg (from your pic it looks good) and as tight as possible at the ankle to get that nice tapered look of the original armor and if done right (and depending on body type) you never have a problem with the shin riding over your boot or twisting for that matter. So tape it up like you have and take it through some serious walking and "running", if the shin stays in place your all set 1 hour ago, Rat said: There really isn't a whole lot of wiggle room. That`s beeing a Stormtrooper for ya It looks great 1 Quote
Rat[TK] Posted January 26, 2018 Author Report Posted January 26, 2018 That`s beeing a Stormtrooper for ya:salute: It looks great:duim: Yeah there's just the slightest bit of overlapping at the calf and ankle. However I have to struggle a bit to get the ankle to close around the ankle. So if I do the bra hooks on the shins would this be fine or do I want to trim that small bit off?Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk Quote
Rat[TK] Posted January 26, 2018 Author Report Posted January 26, 2018 So for the time being I think the limbs are good, minus the forearm reshaping. I think next up is fitting the main body pieces. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk Quote
Rat[TK] Posted January 26, 2018 Author Report Posted January 26, 2018 Working on the TD and found a use for the Anovos supplied white velcro. LOL!Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk Quote
Rat[TK] Posted January 27, 2018 Author Report Posted January 27, 2018 Rivet issue solved. Cut them with wire cutters and then covered them using the material I have for my neck seal. Also did the thigh garter straps.Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk Quote
Rat[TK] Posted January 27, 2018 Author Report Posted January 27, 2018 So I was looking at this and wondering if I need to trim this even or leave it as is? I'm guessing it should be trimmed but just not sure.Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk Quote

Rat[TK] Posted January 28, 2018 Author Report Posted January 28, 2018 So I got to making some inner strips for the shins from some scrap material.Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk 1 Quote
Rat[TK] Posted January 30, 2018 Author Report Posted January 30, 2018 So I've come into a dilemma with the shins. Luckily I put my inner strips on the same sides so that I can interchange between the two sides. So I noticed that when I lined up the front tops that the rear didn't want to line up. Also the ankles had a definite longer and shorter side originally. However when I changed them to get the tops lined up the length difference went away. I'm also finding it difficult to get the sniper knee to fit properly. I have held off on gluing it all so far minus the inner strip. So any help here would be great before I proceed. Here are some picture after swapping the pieces, the tape is just to hold them together.Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk Quote
Rat[TK] Posted January 30, 2018 Author Report Posted January 30, 2018 Thanks Tony. Some how it seemed that the pieces were almost mirrored, but having them clarified and looking at them they look more correct now. Again thanks Tony.Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk Quote

Again thanks Tony.Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk I hate to be that guy but those look labeled wrong. The long swoop should be on oitside and high bulge on inside. I think the right is left and vise versa. With some brands it's easy to identify with longer sides to the outside. Gotta protect that vulnerable ankle! Hopefully Tony chimes back in to clarify. Plus sniper knee would fit better on one labeled right.Ah... Shingate!Sent from my LGMS631 using Tapatalk 1 Quote
