yoshix[TK]
I'm going to start discussing the differences I found in Jimmy's kit versus the photos from the celebration display and the screenshots that I have been obsessing over for the past few months I can assume that his butt piece is larger because Jimmys kits need to fit a large range of people. I've been pulling measurements from the 1/6 scale hot toys fig as well, as we are pretty much the same body size. The fig is just a little bit taller than I am. I've got several several side by side companies that I'll be posting as well. Understandably there are different camera perspectives and different body types.
Parquette[TK]
It should be mentioned that the brow on the Jim helmet is much thicker than it should be. Yes, it nearly touches the eyes like on the screen used pieces, but it's too tall. It should be thinner, but definately lower like on the Jim helmet. The problem is in the top half of it, not the bottom half.

One of the reasons why I went with the black series for the helmet
yoshix[TK]
When I did the front comparison the first thing that jumped out at me was the fact that the ab details are much larger and the drop boxes are much larger. I knew that if I was going to make this kit I would have to try to replace parts of the ab and most likely the boxes on the belt. So I started playing around with vacuum forming This was my first test. Getting better! yoshix[TK]
I made a cardboard mok up to give be an idea of size, pull measurements frome the figure. That was before the kit had even come in. Here you can see the size difference.

yoshix[TK]
This is another issue I want to tackle. For me the shin swoops too dramatically and the curve starts too low So this was my first idea on how to fix it. Cutting out the triangle and then cutting downward on the cover strip relieving pressure. I don't think that would have worked, but I was desperate for ideas. Then I came up with this, cutting slots and making it wider by expanding it. This would probably work well. Then I thought of this cut. By putting the sides together at more of an angel, I think it will give me the look I want. I may need to cut the front cover strip off and reattach it at the right angle. The back cover strip I don't need to change because it's supposed to carve out word. I am a little worried because after I bondo it, putting it on and taking it off for troops might crack. I'll just have to do my best to reenforce it Edited December 30, 2017 by yoshix
yoshix[TK]
The thigh belt looks really good and doesn't need to be changed, but because I'm kind of a perfectionist I'm going to cut this little bit off on just the one side
yoshix[TK]
I put blue tape on the 1/6 scale figure and traced out the thigh pattern. Then I put the tape on paper and cut it out. Then I traced the pattern on graph paper. With that I could make it 1/6 larger, and cut out a real life pattern. Then I traced it on the thighs I'll cut out that back cover strip and reattach it. I'll cut plastic to recreate the bottoms. In the end it should have the look it want.
yoshix[TK]
Again, not really something that anyone will notice, but the crotch tab is rounded off. I debated on cutting off more, but actually I think a little bit needs to be added to the very bottom. I'm not going to do this. I'm just saying, if anyone is reading this that is changing out there molds or making new molds all together.
yoshix[TK]
Let's discuss the kidney plate for a sec. The long line represents the hot toys figure. I have decided not to cut it down as it looks that big on the celebration display. The little mark is how much I want exposed with the back plate on. You can see though, it should be rounded at the bottom. If I have time, I will try to recreate this, but it's not high on my priority list at the moment. Also, it looks like it's connected with two tabs that would go under the belt.
yoshix[TK]
The hook on the bicep is another detail that I noticed when inspecting the hot toys figure. I couldn't figure out what it was and then I stumbled across this photo on Facebook. It looks like it holds up the bicep with a piece of string or elastic. Jimmy's kit dose not have this detail, and to be honest, I didn't think I'm going to try to recreate it
yoshix[TK]
Ok, I understand the hole on the right but what is that on the left? I don't see that in any of my reference photos. Does anyone else have this on their kit? Most likely I'm going to move the shoulder straps further down so I'll end up filling it in I just looked at the CRL photo and it doesn't have it Edited January 1, 2018 by yoshix

yoshix[TK]
I noticed on the reference photos that these should have a slight slant to them. Again, using the figure as a reference I moved the neck line down and the sholder straps. You can see from the head on photo that the sholder straps are down lower and in fact the bottom should be about 3/4 lower below the chest details. I debated on extending it but for now I'm just going to keep it how it is. After Edited January 3, 2018 by yoshix

Spliedt729[501st]
Awesome job, as a fellow sandy I too am in the air with another TK but with all the indentation and detail the Armor looks amazing. Maybe I’ll go the other direction and do a R1 Deathtrooper another favorite of mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
yoshix[TK]
I decided to do the same thing to the back plate that I did to the chest. Its hard to pull measurements from the figure for the back plate because it has a backpack in the way. But to me, the clips look closer to the back detail. Also decided to take a little bit off the bottom. Some dremel work and the straps go further back.
yoshix[TK]
I cut some curves into the side straps. Again, just getting a feel for how it will look.
