Pretzel Posted October 7, 2017 Report Posted October 7, 2017 Hello fellow troopers. In a few hours I will be visiting a children's hospital for the 1st time. I know not what to say... "how you doing?" "when are you getting out..?" etc... But out of habit I say a lot of the things we aren't supposed to say. Any help or suggestions on how to make this visit fun for the kiddos would be appreciated. It will be me and 3 other tk brothers visiting. I will try and get photos of all of us before we see the kids and post a fun mission report. I hope. All the best! Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk Quote
PGHtoolman Posted October 7, 2017 Report Posted October 7, 2017 Pretzel, Biggest thing, relax. Go with the flow. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk 2 Quote
DarthShinzu[501st] Posted October 7, 2017 Report Posted October 7, 2017 Just understand that you are a big part of their day to "forget the norm." When I visited, I used a lot of "Hello". Some will recognize you... some won't, but all will appreciate you being there. Just be yourself and take things slow. It was definitely a different experience for me as well. This is why we do what we do brother!Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk 1 Quote

SonsOfHalifax Posted October 8, 2017 Report Posted October 8, 2017 Say nothing. If you have a TKTalkie let it look and do all that chatting. I’m invited to goto the local children’s hospital for Halloween treat give outs as a Stormtrooper. If you say anything keep it short and sweet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro 2 Quote

CableGuy[TK] Posted October 8, 2017 Report Posted October 8, 2017 Hi guys,Great work. The kids must have loved it. Out of interest, what DID you say in the end? I’m yet to get my clearance so, based on your first post, I’d love to hear how it went for you. :-)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote

Shanester[TK] Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 Did you know how many kids you were visiting in advance? I'd like to take some things to give to the kids, but I am not sure how much or what. (I have a childrens hospital troop next week) Quote

We had a child-life staff member escort us around the rooms the entire time. It could be 5, but it could be up to 30. There is no way of knowing. At least in this particular troop. For those interested. I posted an official Troop Log of the visit: Edited October 9, 2017 by Pretzel 1 Quote
