Looks really good, Brittany!

The only possible deal breaker I see is that the butt plate overlaps the kidney plate. These should butt together but it looks like you may have remove all the return edge along that seam which will make it difficult.

Two more small points:

  • The thighs sit a smidge high. They'll look better if they're moved down 3/4" or so.
  • If you plan on going for Centurion, and you should your kit looks really good, I'd suggest swapping the screws on the TD. Those are oval head wood screws, note the conical area for countersinking. They should be pan head screws, either machine or tapping.

Best of luck on you application trooper!

Thanks for the tips, Michael!

Looking at the thighs and butt plate, I think the strapping is just a little too tight, so it should be easy to fix if it's an issue.  I left a slight return edge on the tops and bottoms of the butt/kidney/back plates (around 1/4 inch), so they are able to butt together.

I'm planning to submit for Centurion as well (everything was built with that in mind), so I'll just make a stop at the hardware store and swap out the TD screws.

Thanks again!

Hi Brittany thank you for your EIB application, lets jump into it.
CRL and EIB Application Requirements:
All the required submission photos have been posted, and your armour meets all the necessary requirements for level 2. With that Tony and myself would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry, congratulations :salute:

Other-Armor Fit/Assembly:
In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections.
What a great looking TK build!! very clean with excellent attention to detail, it's something to be proud of.
The below very simple fixes are  something we do like to see correct. These will have no bearing on any future approval but when shooting for Centurion, it is those tiny things that make a big difference, so lets start from the top and work our way down.
1. Vocoder: Anovos have made improvements detailing their helmets, but the Vocoder shape and edges still can use a little refining, to sharpen the shape.

Your shoulder bell to bridge gap can be brought down by shortening the top black elastic straps that connect the two. They should virtually if not touch at the very top.

The other item here is the type of screws used on your Thermal Det. These should be Pan head slotted, where i believe yours look like counter sunk or tapered head, slotted .

One other thing that was mentioned by your fellow troopers Addertime, was the Butt plate. I think the only thing you could do here would be to move your snap plate mounts out to just shy of the ends of the kidney and but. This will reduce the flare out on the ends and make a small difference to the overlapping.

Centurion Suggestions:
In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there are any areas of concern this is where we discuss them.

The one standout when we look at the back section of your armour is the overlap occurring from the bottom of the back plate over the kidney plate. Perfectly acceptable at EI but as per the level 3 CRL

For level three certification (if applicable):

  • Back plate shall have no, or minimal overlap of the kidney plate.

The aim here would be to get the back plate to sit higher, and with a bit of trimming, its not a difficult mod.
Looking from the inside of your back plate, you can trim the shoulder tabs back and re trim the neck provision, rather than having to trim the return edge from the bottom. I have marked the image to help explain what I am talking about.
This will allow the plate to sit higher up than it currently can , so if the overlap is 3/4" then trim slightly less than that , tape and check. If its good, then rejoin your parts, if not trim a touch more.

Well that is it Brittany, excellent application with only minor adjustments and fixes, then you are ready to rock Centurion.
Congratulations and we hope to see you in Centurion review soon.  :jc_doublethumbup:

All Centurion recommended changes are complete, just need to re-take photos and submit.
