ukswrath[Staff] Posted August 4, 2017 Report Posted August 4, 2017 Hey Darren, Andrew or myself will be with you shortly. 1 Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted August 7, 2017 Report Posted August 7, 2017 Welcome Darren, thank you for your EIB application. Let's take a look shall we. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: Beautiful job on your build. All the required submission photos have been posted. You armor displays all the necessary components to qualify you for Expert Infantry. Andrew and myself would like to congratulate and welcome you Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and/or ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. That said we have a few minor areas we'd like to mention, starting with the helmet great again, job on your build. If we had anything to add to make it look even better it would be to touch up a few painted areas. The tears, traps, tube stripes and rank bar details could use a little TLC. The tears & traps should be a bit larger with the outer black lines positioned deep into the return edges. We've provided canon reference photos below you so that you can compare. Reference photos 2) The lines around the rank bar should be roughly half as thick as yours. Here's a reference photo 3) The tube stripes are a bit wide (not by much), mainly they could be cleaned up slightly so that they appear more uniform. Reference photo 4) Moving down to the waist belt, though not a big issue the belt should reside at or just below the lower ab button. Reference photo 5) Your waist ammo belt is also a bit too wide. The return edge should stop just outside the boxes. It's recommended you trim this down. Reference photo 6) And finally your left thigh looks like the return edge is protruding forward. We're suggesting you maybe trim it back or soften it up and fold it back towards you to prevent from being snagged on something. Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. The only concern we have in this are is the Ab to kidney gap. This could be a simple strap adjustment. The Centurion CRL states: For level three certification (if applicable): Ideally there is no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor. Reference photo Alright Darren, that's it. Very nice work on your build, hope to see you at Centurion. Quote
xSCDx Posted August 7, 2017 Author Report Posted August 7, 2017 Brilliant, thank you very much indeed. I'll get to work on this minor adjustments, the Tube stripes worry me a little but will do what I can to improve them. Fingers crossed...Centurion next 1 Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted August 7, 2017 Report Posted August 7, 2017 Congrats Darren! Nice to see a great hero build. :-)Personally, I find the humble toothpick/cocktail stick and brilliant tool for tweaking the tube stripes. You can gently shave away any unwanted paint to shape your stripes. Here's a before and after toothpick shot of mine. :-)Ps, hope you enjoyed the Toy Fair on Sat? I was there around 3pm having a chat with Phil. He mentioned I was the second new recruit to pay them a visit and I guessed the other one might have been you. ;-)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
xSCDx Posted August 7, 2017 Author Report Posted August 7, 2017 Thanks buddy. Shame to have missed you. I left just before 3. I'll get some picks.Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk 1 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted August 7, 2017 Report Posted August 7, 2017 Congrats and welcome to the ranks trooper 1 Quote
xSCDx Posted August 7, 2017 Author Report Posted August 7, 2017 Tube stripes cleaned up. Ammo Belt trimmed a couple of mm top and bottom.Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Quote
xSCDx Posted August 7, 2017 Author Report Posted August 7, 2017 Because of the nature of the vac forming, if I cu any closer to the ammo boxed I'm going to end up with gaps on each box top and bottom. It's not a shear 90 degree edge on them. Hopefully you'll see from the images. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Quote
xSCDx Posted August 7, 2017 Author Report Posted August 7, 2017 Left thigh trimmed at suggested spot.Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted August 7, 2017 Report Posted August 7, 2017 Dang, now that's a trooper shooting for accuracy Thank you for making the suggested repairs and yes don't go any further on your belt then safe to do so. Keep up the good work Quote

ukswrath[Staff] Posted August 7, 2017 Report Posted August 7, 2017 Looking good. Note the vent line length of your helmet in comparison to the reference photo posted above. BTW take your time, we love your enthusiasm but this doesn't have to be done right away. Quote
