CableGuy[TK] Posted August 9, 2017 Author Report Posted August 9, 2017 BBB DAY!!!! Unboxing under Imperial supervision. ;-) Can't wait to start!! :-)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted August 11, 2017 Author Report Posted August 11, 2017 Made a start to my kit. Trusty lexan scissors. Will go back afterwords with the Dremel to tidy things up and get into those tricky corners. A little scary, but much fun!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted August 14, 2017 Author Report Posted August 14, 2017 Hi all. Although I'll start a blaster build thread separately, interesting news on the DoopyDoos E-11 front. Apparently, their E-11 moulds had died so they have created brand new moulds. Hopefully that's a good thing for me - hoping that the brand new moulds will be nice and detailed. Due to be dispatched around the middle of this week. Can't wait!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
68Brick[TK] Posted August 14, 2017 Report Posted August 14, 2017 Nice cuts Dan & congrats on BBB day. Don't be afraid to hit those edges up with a sanding block before you jump on to the Dremel. ABS sands easily and a Dremel can get away on you. You might no even need the Dremel from what I see. 1 Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted August 14, 2017 Author Report Posted August 14, 2017 Thanks, Brad. I'll try old school sanding before I fire up the Dremel. I got a bit further this evening. Only used lexans on these bits so will go back over them with sand paper to finish of some of the edges. Nb, shoulder bell on left of shot is not yet trimmed. CableGuy[TK] Posted August 16, 2017 Author Report Posted August 16, 2017 Hi all,Got a surprising amount done last night. Trimmed the arms and shins, plus a little tweaking of the other parts I trimmed yesterday. I've still got to do some sanding as there a quite a few flared edges in places, (example on bicep, marked with a red line). I also couldn't resist a few sunset photos of my lid last night. #iPhoneNoFilter :-)More to follow. :-)DanSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted August 17, 2017 Author Report Posted August 17, 2017 Hi all,Did some work on removing the return edge from the wrists tonight. Started with the Dremel and finished off with hand files. Also, had some new pads arrive for my lid. Much better fit - no more wobbling when I look up and down. As always, more updates to follow. :-)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted August 21, 2017 Author Report Posted August 21, 2017 Hi all,So, I've started fitting and gluing. I made a start by cutting all of the required cover strips. With the overwatch of my UKG armourers, I marked up the forearms. Unfortunately, the size of my magnets pulled the butt joint out by a mil or two. In the end, the overall look is okay. Last night I fitted the rear cover strip. Dan :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

CableGuy[TK] Posted August 23, 2017 Author Report Posted August 23, 2017 Hi all,Nearly finished both arms now. To get over the magnet pulling issue that I had with the right forearm (post #33), I used an off cut 15mm cover strip and taped it inside the forearm. This kept the magnets flat when holding the top cover strip in place. Seems to have worked a lot better. To get the shape I need for my skinny wrists, the underside cover strip will pull the upper and lower forearm parts together. Should make sense when I post the finished pictures. |Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted August 24, 2017 Author Report Posted August 24, 2017 Morning world, I've now finished gluing the arm pieces and couldn't resist a trial kit-up of the bits I have so far. I've still got lots to sand and finish so this is just for fun. :-) Loving this process!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

CableGuy[TK] Posted August 26, 2017 Author Report Posted August 26, 2017 Morning all,Spent the day on my build yesterday. Started with lots of sanding to get the parts looking nice. Then moved on to the belt, knee amok pack and the strapping. Also had a wonderful delivery yesterday. Updates on this will be in my E-11 thread:Cheers. DanSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted August 28, 2017 Author Report Posted August 28, 2017 Hi all,Got a couple of hours today. Started working on the drop boxes and ab plates. For anyone new to this, I was advised a 15mm total thickness for the drop boxes. 12mm for the internal part of the drop box. Then moved on to the ab plate. Advised approx 2 - 3mm left showing surrounding the plate. Needs a little tidying. Also trimmed the tabs for the belt. Also, sanded away the return edge on the wrists. Probably just a little more to go for Centurion. Any feedback welcomed. :-)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted August 29, 2017 Author Report Posted August 29, 2017 (edited) Hi all, Been steadily working away, this time on the belt. Marked everything up and drilled the holes in the ammo belt. Then used a 3.5mm punch for the holes in the fabric belt itself. Need to wait for my proper punch tools to arrive to fit the poppers to the ab. Please note: I initially put the wrong popper base through the ab - the correct one (with the RWA strapping kit) is the more fancy popper base on the left. Here's the tools I was recommended for the poppers. Best wishes, Dan :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited August 31, 2017 by CableGuy Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted August 30, 2017 Author Report Posted August 30, 2017 Good evening all, More work on the belt tonight. My set of tools arrived so I could fit the poppers to the ab. Poppers for belt-ab connection Single cap rivets holding ammo pack to belt Measuring for holster connections E6000 to glue drop boxes and belt tabs. More to come soon. Brad, you were spot on regarding sanding paper/block. I've hardly used the Dremel for the armour build. It might come in more helpful for my resin blaster build. :-) Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted September 1, 2017 Author Report Posted September 1, 2017 (edited) Whoop!! One of my last expected deliveries - and it's a good one. I have just received my TRamp. I've had a quick play and it seems really good. Will give it a proper test later and report back. For those that haven't seen it before, it's essentially an Aker speaker/amp with all the clever stuff built in. In built audio loops, many voice presets and loops for TK, Vader, Fett, droids etc... Comes with two mics, USB charging cable, strap, 3.5 to 3.5mm jack (not actually required for this setup, just comes with the aker I think), and I opted for the remote version. This allows samples to be triggered, static bursts on request, volume adjustment etc., or you can just talk through it and enjoy the trademark pops and bursts. CableGuy[TK] Posted September 3, 2017 Author Report Posted September 3, 2017 Evening all,Getting closer now. Strapping is well underway. Most of my popper bases are now gluing. Run out of clamps now so I'll be doing the rest tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
CableGuy[TK] Posted September 5, 2017 Author Report Posted September 5, 2017 (edited) Hi all, Been working away in my strapping. Also cleared a decent work space in my shed ready for my blaster build. Don't want to get piles of resin dust all over the kitchen table!! ;-) I now have the ab/kidney/butt/ back connected. Will be working in the shoulder connection tonight (chest to back). I also plan to glue the front of the thighs and shins this evening. I can then start sizing them up. Here's some progress pics. Best wishes, Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited September 7, 2017 by CableGuy Quote
