Poe Posted June 15, 2017 Report Posted June 15, 2017 Hello out there! A few days ago I received this NSBBB (the BBB is, as I write this, on its way from the UK to Sweden) And this is what was in it So after a few years looking trough build threads and reference pictures, I finally got my own set of armor This is hat I´ve done so far...Face plate and eyes Cap n' back I hope it looks okey so far. And I do apologize for crappy phone camera pictures. Any input, tips, how to and tricks of the trade will be greatly appreciated 2 Quote
Shanester[TK] Posted June 16, 2017 Report Posted June 16, 2017 Congrats!! Its always exciting to get that box. Your trimming looks fine so far. Obviously, you still have a little ways to go, but your work looks good. 1 Quote
Poe Posted June 16, 2017 Author Report Posted June 16, 2017 Thank you very much.Oh yes. Very exiting indeed. My hand was really shaking when I opened it up 1 Quote
Poe Posted June 16, 2017 Author Report Posted June 16, 2017 so, by following the lead of Gazmosis: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28633-howto-ata-helmet-build-hand-painted-details-pic-heavy/ pandatrooper: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorials/article/1-howto-assembling-ata-abs-helmet-1/page-3 and Gwithian: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/40087-stephens-rs-anh-stunt-build-wip-for-small-people/ and a few reference pics, I actually managed to accomplish this I think it turned out quite alright Next mission will be to maybe trim a wee bit more on the left side, attach everything permanently and move on to the dreaded ears. I am truly a bit scared of those... 1 Quote
Poe Posted July 11, 2017 Author Report Posted July 11, 2017 Build update! So far so good, I hope. I believe that the helmet is almost ready for paint. I´m not really happy with the ears, but they might be ok, I think. Quote
Poe Posted July 11, 2017 Author Report Posted July 11, 2017 (edited) Ear gaps right side. I hope that it looks ok so far. Edited July 11, 2017 by Poe Quote
Poe Posted July 19, 2017 Author Report Posted July 19, 2017 Minor updates. Decided to give the bucket a touch of paint, and I thought that I would try the hand painted look First, marking out were to paint Quote
Poe Posted July 19, 2017 Author Report Posted July 19, 2017 Then, add paint Well... maybe a bit of touch up will help, but I'm not sure about the tube stripes Perhaps I should remove and repaint..? Quote
Poe Posted July 19, 2017 Author Report Posted July 19, 2017 Otherwise... Well, it looks ok anyway... Quote

Hi fellow Swedish trooper here....I would repaint and check out Crickets RS build on some great advice in doing the painting 1 Quote
Poe Posted July 19, 2017 Author Report Posted July 19, 2017 Yepp... I think you are right about that. But I just had to give it a try I will definetly check out Crickets thread. Or perhaps I should just go with the paint masks from Trooperbay Quote
TheSwede[TK] Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 (edited) And you did absolutely right in doing so, for me that`s the fun in building, you try something and see how it goes and if your not happy with the result, redo and I say use the templates but not a brush, in her build she uses a sponge and it looks super-easy and super-clean! My TX came with a ready-made helmet but I´m going to use her tip on my Hero-kit and there are many other great building advises, tips and tricks from her and others that really makes it worth while to read it and she also has the tread divided into chapters which makes it easy to navigate to what your interested in for the moment, the shin closure for example is a work of art..so...you won`t regret it Edited July 19, 2017 by jedha-trooper spelling 1 Quote
Poe Posted July 19, 2017 Author Report Posted July 19, 2017 Oh yes. Her sponge stripes looks really good. I think I will try to make some templates of my own first. The shipping rate from the US is not very funny at all Quote
TheSwede[TK] Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 Yeah tell me about it! Sometimes the shipping cost more then the item itself 1 Quote
Poe Posted August 28, 2017 Author Report Posted August 28, 2017 Yepp. I have glued the biceps, attached the brackets to chest and torso and started on the forearms. But I think I need to make longer loops for the chest. And I need to get more glue Quote
TheSwede[TK] Posted August 28, 2017 Report Posted August 28, 2017 I see, so where's the pics then?! Quote
Poe Posted August 28, 2017 Author Report Posted August 28, 2017 Hahahahaha.... Patience! There will be pics, soon Quote
TheSwede[TK] Posted August 28, 2017 Report Posted August 28, 2017 Patience?? Hah I'm No Jedi! 1 Quote

Poe Posted September 1, 2017 Author Report Posted September 1, 2017 (edited) Sooo... I'm trying to figure out the placement on the side split rivets and the Han snap. Was looking at the Bilhag "Bilgrams", some reference pics and a Troopermaster hero build on Facebook, and this is my conclusion. Does this seem right to you guys? themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted September 1, 2017 Report Posted September 1, 2017 Those split rivets look too far in to my eye. I can't remember off the top of my head the correct measurement but the proportioning vs the vertical distances look off to me. 1 Quote
Poe Posted September 1, 2017 Author Report Posted September 1, 2017 Yea... I think you are right. I will re check and measure again (and mabey a few times more) . My ultimate dream is centurion, so I don't want to make any stupid mistakes just because I want to finish things to fast. Skickat från min SM-G930F via Tapatalk 1 Quote
