Soulart[TK] Posted May 17, 2017 Report Posted May 17, 2017 Last minute request! To my delight, my young son's principal was asked to celebrate Star Wars Day in their school by her students. This is a small school in small rural Alberta Canada, and this was the schools first ever May the Fourth day! I was called the night before as the secretary informed the staff that one of our students Mother is a StormTrooper..... HA! Of course I went! At first my youngling of 13 was nervous... "Mom, what if someone makes fun of you..." Oh hunny.... They won't! Are you embarrassed? If so, I won't go! "No no Mom.... It's not that I'm embarrassed... it's just that if anyone makes fun of you, I'll be sent to the office for getting in a fight!" Oh dear.... Bahaha. It'll be fine. I'll go as The Captain.... They will be nervous I'll take them away to join my Legion! We laughed. As I was dressing, rather than our national anthem, what do you suppose comes blaring over the PA system? Yep. Opening SW theme. (I may or may not have shed a tear of pride and joy) Emerik races out of homeroom to help me get Phasma on, then whips nervously off to gym class. As we go room to room, I'm thrilled to see so many students dressed in costume! And more so thrilled to see even the Rebel sympathizers willing to join me and the Dark Side! They all wanted to join me! As it turned out, the school was visited that am by the entire districts school board members, which excitedly posed for pics with us. I finally make my way to my younglings room and the entire class is silent as I'm introduced!!!!! This was a rarity, as this is the highest grade in the school, and the rowdiest homeroom. Dead silence. In my best Phasma voice I address them making note of how well behaved they are considering what I have learnt of their behaviors. Well, cheers! Hoots! Applause. Incredulity! So much fun. As they were the oldest, and have some knowledge of volunteering and such, we spoke about the 501st, it's mandate, and all we do as individuals, Garrisons and a Legion on a whole. We discussed monies raised, and charities supported, and costume building. A most spectacular morning indeed. As I leave the room, proudly led by son for a class pic, he stands beside me and whispers "Mom, you're so damn cool! That was great. I love you. " Does Mama Phasma shed a tear in her chrome bucket? Yes. Yes she does. Sent from my STV100-3 using Tapatalk 3 Quote
