Shaun369 Posted May 8, 2017 Report Posted May 8, 2017 Hi folks,

Just wondering if anyone could please assist. I've come across this armour on an Australian website and being a newbie just wondering if it's going to be worth the outlay and 501st worthy.
Here's the link.

https://toptoy.com.au/shepperton-design-studios-original-stormtrooper-battle-spec-full-armour.html Quote
themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted May 8, 2017 Report Posted May 8, 2017 SDS armour is generally not recommended. It can be made to clear but it's a lot more work than the armours on the vetted list. have a read of this forum: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/38-getting-started-read-this-first/ Specifically this post http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/ 1 Quote
I'm Batman[501st] Posted May 8, 2017 Report Posted May 8, 2017 Welcome Shaun369. As your first post was linking to a Toy Shop selling SDS armour I would seriously look at the threads Chris mentioned above. You can do soooo much better for less than half that. Looking at Aussie websites, are you in Australia? Where from? Quote
Shaun369 Posted May 8, 2017 Author Report Posted May 8, 2017 Thanks for the replays. I'm located on the Gold Coast. Quote

I'm Batman[501st] Posted May 8, 2017 Report Posted May 8, 2017 Thanks for the replays. I'm located on the Gold Coast. Make sure you sign up on the Redback forums and make yourself known there. Not sure if they have any local makers that way, but their advice and that here will steer you in the right direction. As a general rule, if they have a 'shop' (apart from RS Props) or are on eBay, stay away. 1 Quote
Shaun369 Posted May 8, 2017 Author Report Posted May 8, 2017 All this info, very much appreciated. Quote
humperdingle Posted May 8, 2017 Report Posted May 8, 2017 Yeh, a lot of work to get it up to scratch. (I got mine to EIB, and they can reach centurion, but I wouldn't do another SDS) Quote
Novak Dimon[TK] Posted May 8, 2017 Report Posted May 8, 2017 Hi Shaun, welcome to the white zone! Generally the SDS armor is ok. But as mentioned before there is some work needed to make it ready to join the Legion though. BUT the price of this shop is ridiculous high!! You may find this armor from time to time for around 500EUR (740AUD) at Amazon in Europe. But for 1870 AUD you will find a much better kit from one of the vetted makers!
As stated before: take your time for thorough research before ordering anything and ask all the questions you have. It will save you a lot of your hard earned money!
Best regards!
Christian Quote
MrSnrub[501st] Posted May 10, 2017 Report Posted May 10, 2017 Go with RSprops if ur thinking about shepperton, Shepperton is just a recasted return Of the jedi suit modified to ANH, andrew ainsworth didnt sculpt anything in the movies hes just a liar and fraud taking credit for others work, rs however is endorsed by the origional sculptor of the armour and cast from an origional suit, TM is annother amazing armor set, and plenty more 100 times better than SDS as everyone else said check pit the getting started section 1 Quote
