D-MAC Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 This is me in my FX Armor with my MR lid. It's been fully moded, I've drilled the extra teeth, filled the gap painted and fully linned the interior. Ive just fitted a large fan and also my Rom Fx I'll post some more pics as soon as i can. Comments welcome Quote
Mr_Vader Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 looks great, what did you pad the interior with?! Quote
Billhag Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 Derek Great job mate. Really liked the way that you worked the 'knee pad' sections around the shape of the original padding at the top of the helmet.Nice layout on the sides as well. I'd love to see how you've tucked away the sound and fan system amongst that great padding Well done Sir! Quote
Nootch Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 at last delboy, when you putting in for clearance, if you get a wriggle on you may get sorted for the induction troop on the 2nd of august. Quote
D-MAC Posted July 21, 2008 Author Report Posted July 21, 2008 Just took some more pics with the Rom Fx and fan fitted, the white padding has been removed as it was starting to give me a bad head. (Will post soon) Iv'e replaced it with some foam that i found in a packing case at work...very soft..no more bad heads, unless it's alcohol induced Nootch i've submitted my pics for clearence...now the long wait begins Quote

Ph1l2007 Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 I'd love to see how you've tucked away the sound and fan system amongst that great padding Well done Sir! I second this!! Quote
Dogma238 Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 Very nice bucket, can't wait to see the "new interior" shots of it. Great job Quote
D-MAC Posted August 4, 2008 Author Report Posted August 4, 2008 Well here she is my Moded MR: The changes are as followes; New lenses, Tube stripes, Extra tooth driled and mesh added, screws added to Ears,Gap by the frown has been filled (Took for ever !!) I still think it needs more As you can see i've changed the layout of the pads and added some foam padding as the padding supplied was giving me a bad head The white switch top right is for one of the fans and at the bottom in the black baloon is the Rom Fx with it's battery to the left Close up of Rom Fx (Best bit of Kit a Trooper can buy...Tch !!!) This large fan had been placed at the chin but after a while i decided top relocate it, it now sits just above the middle of the lenses and blows coolair onto my fore head, you can also see the mic for the Rom Fx. It as well as the fans and home made battery boxs were secured with hot glue IF YOU DON'T LIKE THEM THEN TALK TO MY LITTLE FRIEND Quote
baron von blondle Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 loooookin good D! Respect P. Quote
Darth Raizzar[TK] Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 I Like the mods you've done alot, they really look great! Recently I bought a MR CE lid to replace my FX, so naturally I have a few questions for you, if you don't mind Where did you buy your decals, and lenses, and do you have a place for reference pictures, for the screws by the ear caps etc..?? A very fine job BTW, I just started the mods on mine, and I hope it turns out as good as yours. Quote

ZeroRoom[TK] Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 This is the second FX suit build with modded MRCE that I've seen now and I've gotta say they look really good. Maybe they can't be considered as "screen accurate" as is possible but the more I stare at these pics and some of Jgarretg's build he sent me the more I begin to wonder if this isn't just a damn good set to go for genuinely idealized armor.. Not that this will ever alter my loyalty to RT Mod... Quote

I know what your saying, my first choice was RT Mod but as he was having problems at the time and i could'nt wait i went with FX. RT Mod next time............But i love my MR Quote
ZeroRoom[TK] Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 BTW: Are those standard FX ab button plates or have you replaced them? Quote
missingpieces[501st] Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 i thnk one of the two must have improvements for MRCEs is to raise the brow and thinning/replacing the ears Quote
ZeroRoom[TK] Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 I'm with you on the ears - especially if you're looking for accuracy, however the brow just isn't an issue for me - I've always like the straight brow and in the OT those wonky brows always bugged me as a mistake by a slack prop master.. Quote
missingpieces[501st] Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 the main thing i liked about moving the brow up was so you can see the whole shape of the eye. which for some optical illusion type reason makes the face of the helmet look less narrow Quote
Murray1134[501st] Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 I've always liked the straight, level and low look on the brow trim. Quote

DMC Gregola Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Hey all, I have recently finished modding my MR CE Lid also, Here are some pics. Have tried to incorporate some of the detail seen in the .45 scale as well as keeping it functional. Quote
2155TK[TK] Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 HI sir! How did you remove the painted on tube stripes on the MRCE? i know you replaced them with new decals right? thanks! Quote
tk-1842 Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and warm water. It takes a little elbow grease, but they do come off and won't ruin the finish. Quote
