humbrol paint watery and thin?

went to use my humbrols to paint my new bucket and notices that its quite watery and doesnt want to stick to anything, i shook it up and stirred for a minute, they are about a year old  do i just need to give it more of a shake or get some new paints?

I'm not a fan of Humbrol really. I'm a Testors guy. I do feel that Humbrol is thinner than Testors and I don't think it covers as well. I can also get smoother results with Testors.

I agree with Ron, I use the Testors paint. This is still a little thin for me but after 2 or 3 coats its great and not going anywhere.

Humbrol paint is supposed to be thin, the idea is 2 thin coats are better than 1 thick one for model painting.  I needed 3 coats for my tube stripes and 2 for the grey areas.

Humbrol better for airbrush, testors better coverage with a paintbrush.  I prefer one thick coat when using a paintbrush, just try to work fast,  paint will self level uniformally for a perfect smooth finish, less strokes the better, the many years of model building/painting experience paid off

I always use Humbrol paints on my helmet builds and never have to use two coats. You just have to stir it up properly. If you find yourself using two or more coats of paint, it is probably an old tin. Buy another one, they are only cheap.

Thanks for the help guys i think ill give itanother long shake and stir and buy another some more if they dont work i bought these humbrols bout a year ago they went on nicely in one coat
