About to Start my First Ever Build!

After over a year on the ATA waiting list, I'll finally be getting my stuff in the next few days. I'm super excited, but also incredibly nervous considering I've never really tackled a project like putting this all together before. Wanted to say thanks to everyone on these forums because the community seems super reassuring and the guides look like they will be a big help.

Any general advice for a first timer?

Oh, and a question I had about 501st acceptance--Is the holster still required if one intends to use a DLT-19?

Congrats on finally getting your gear.  You are in good company for advice on building armor.  You might also start by tracking down accessories you plan to implement such as boots, helmet electronics, etc.  Also, if you haven't already, reach out to your local Garrison or Squad. Good luck!

Great news and good luck with the build, make sure you do your research, measure twice and cut once.

 

Holsters are required for approval even if you are using a DLT19, they are not an option
