ukswrath[Staff] Posted May 2, 2017 Report Posted May 2, 2017 Nice work Jim What's the chance of making this in white? 1 Quote
jimmiroquai[TK] Posted May 7, 2017 Author Report Posted May 7, 2017 Nice work Jim What's the chance of making this in white? We'll be casting this in white. Experimenting with some finishes out of the mold as well. Updates! Working on the front belt and belt boxes: Made the back plate a bit wider for more allowance. Also worked on the Thermal det. Sorry for the blurry pics. Feedback very much welcome! 2 Quote

SlyFox740[TK] Posted May 25, 2017 Report Posted May 25, 2017 Wow Jim, The white parts look amazing! Are they painted white, or is it cast in white fiberglass? Glossy or Matte finish? Quote
jimmiroquai[TK] Posted May 28, 2017 Author Report Posted May 28, 2017 Wow Jim, The white parts look amazing! Are they painted white, or is it cast in white fiberglass? Glossy or Matte finish? Thanks! We tried casting in a glossy finish with a gel coat..but it was not ideal. So this is cast in white dull flexible fiberglass. I hope to have this all rigged up by tomorrow. 4 Quote

SlyFox740[TK] Posted May 29, 2017 Report Posted May 29, 2017 (edited) Thanks! We tried casting in a glossy finish with a gel coat..but it was not ideal. So this is cast in white dull flexible fiberglass. I hope to have this all rigged up by tomorrow. That's awesome, then all it will need is a nice gloss clear coat. I wonder which kind will be best for protecting the armor and shine up nice if you want to buff out any surface scratches, similar to using Novus Plastic Polish on ABS. Or do you think the armor will require primer and/or paint? Edited May 29, 2017 by SlyFox740 1 Quote
