ukswrath[Staff] Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 Hey Andrew Sly or myself will be along shortly to process your app. While you wait please take a moment to breath lol Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted March 22, 2017 Report Posted March 22, 2017 Hey Andrew, thank you for your EI application, let's get started. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Welcome and congratulations! . Beautiful job on your build Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. Since this section is used to enhance to overall look of your armor we have couple areas we would like to talk about. Not a huge deal but the clips on your Thermal Detonator should be positioned as such so that the clips are not only flush with the ends caps as yours are but also flush with the control panel. Simply repositioning the clips should do the trick. Reference photo Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. The only are of concern here is the drop box alignment. As per the CRL the drop boxes are to be aligned with the edge of the ammo belt. A simple fix for this is to glue the connecting strap to the cloth belt so that the boxes remain in the correct position. For level three certification (if applicable): Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. Reference photo That's it. Excellent job on your build, hope to see you at Centurion. Quote
gatetrooper[TK] Posted March 23, 2017 Author Report Posted March 23, 2017 (edited) Thanks, Tony! Thrilled to be here and join the EIB ranks. My end goal is one step higher, so you'll see me here again soon. I do have a 10 year old Jawa waiting in the wings, so time is in high demand. In the spirit of troopers helping troopers, which is what got me here, I have to shout out to my Garrison Carida Academy advisor, Jamie (Darth Havoc) and several others on the boards for their patient insights, as well as countless hours here on FISD digging thru the archives, including your gold standard build thread, Tony. Thanks also to Preston (Pretzel) for helping me get over some of my technical literacy hurdles. Edited March 23, 2017 by gatetrooper 1 Quote

vettereddie[TK] Posted March 26, 2017 Report Posted March 26, 2017 Wow, excellent build. May need to consider Darman for a new seal, looks way more comfy. Quote
gatetrooper[TK] Posted March 29, 2017 Author Report Posted March 29, 2017 Wow, excellent build. May need to consider Darman for a new seal, looks way more comfy. Thanks, Brian. Darman's neck seals work really nice. They came highly recommended to me, so I'll pay it forward here. I have not had any issues with comfort. If you have any concerns with your current piece, you can't go wrong with this one. Quote

Tony, drop boxes are corrected, but I need a little more guidance on the TD, if you please. I see the issue that you highlighted, but in poking around in other builds and applications, it looks like the brackets I have don't wrap around the bottom of the TD as far as many others I'm seeing. If I shift the brackets (or the plate that's currently glued on) to align them next to each other, it seems the plate may rotate far enough to end up facing more straight back or even a little down. A comment seen in another application suggested that the plate was indeed rotated too far down. I don't want to solve one adjustment issue only to create another one. I'm inclined to pick up another TD to address your comment (these things are known to wander off occasionally at troops due to "sticky" fingers, so having an extra one isn't a bad idea anyway), but is this something that will hinder my Centurion application if not addressed prior to submission? Thanks Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 Well, to be honest your clips are too small my friend and should be replaced with something more accurate. Centurion is about being as accurate as possible. This is a simple fix we're encouraging you to take care before you apply for Centurion. You can do it! Quote
