Daz0128[TK] Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 My question is does it have to be 1in strapping? Only ask because i finished my shadow trooper and have high rank of "Specialist" and this is how i did the strap system on it. Not including the shoulder straps. This was only pic i found of strap system. On the one side i used 3in wide were the 6 split rivets conect front and back. rest was 1in stripswould this be exceptable for centurion ?? Quote
sylverbard[TK] Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 Nothing on the inside matters except the shoulder connection webbing colour and size. But, since you didn't explain where you are concerned about strapping size... Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk 1 Quote

I am pretty sure interior strapping does not have to meet any specific guidelines. As long as the outside of the armor lines up like it needs to. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk Quote

wingnut65[Staff] Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 FYI, many Troopers go with the 2-snap method instead of only 1 snap. With this change, we also go up to 2" strapping to fit 2 snaps per end. The 1-snap method only really needs a 1" strap. Agreed with the others that the CRL does not have any requirements for the inside strapping, except for the shoulders! Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 Personally I think the 2 snap method is overkill and actively detrimental as that removes any ability for your straps to swivel on the snap, which can cause all kinds of snags and bunching up of the strap when you're moving around. I guess the matter isn't so bad due to the very tiny forces involved, but it flawed thinking. People add the second snap for extra strength when they could be using higher quality snaps and and double up the ends of elastics where the snap sit instead. 4 Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 It's common on all Legion CRLs to ignore what can't be seen. Yes, there are a few exceptions, but then we have the RP costume designation too, and that's like herpes - just won't go away. That said, I agree with Mathias on snaps. I've tried Velcro, single snaps, double snaps, quick release buckles, you name it. For myself I find his suggestion of one good quality snap with doubled-over or otherwise reinforced fabric where the snap goes to be the best option. Then again, I know guys who have used 100% Velcro for 10 years and still prefer it. So, YMMV. 1 Quote
