9934[501st] Posted February 16, 2017 Report Posted February 16, 2017 Looking awesome trooper!! Unfortunately I'm not the one that gets to approve your armour. 1 Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted February 16, 2017 Report Posted February 16, 2017 Looking SHARP, Will! I guess you know you will need photos with your armor on, which will give a better idea of the fit. A couple of things that jumped out at me were the absence of a charging handle on your E-11, the D-ring may need to be painted black, and the snap on the left strap of your holster. If you like, I can send you a black resin charging handle and the correct "Chicago" style screws for the holster free of charge if you pick up postage, (probably a few dollars). Just PM me if interested. Overall a great build, and fantastic job on removing the return edges on those forearms! Quote

wingnut65[Staff] Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 Looks nice, Will! Looking forward to the full set of pix. The only thing that jumps out at me are you boots. The white leather spray will not cover the black elastic. That needs white fabric paint. I picked up a small bottle at our local craft store and have used it a lot. It also works well on the boots to touch up in the creases where the white has come of, just like you have experienced. A little touch-up every few troops and they kept looking great! 1 Quote
themaninthesuitcase[Admin] Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 Hi will looking good. I will say I wouldn't change out the hoster mounts. The rivets are what was screen used and I know the snaps are just a practicality mechanism and won't show when in use. I use this my self and it is a great compromise between accuracy and practicality. 1 Quote
willatfisd1064[TK] Posted February 17, 2017 Author Report Posted February 17, 2017 Cheers I included the image just to show how it attached on the reverse side. I should be able to do a full kit up this weekend (have a local Troop, no good asking the wife to take the pics, I'll have no head ) All the usual ones. Front, back, sides etc etc. And take it from there Thanks guys Will. p.s. Boot elastic has had another coat or two Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote

justjoseph63[Staff] Posted February 19, 2017 Report Posted February 19, 2017 That was my mistake on the snap, Will. I should have noticed that it was in addition to the Chicago screw, not in place of. Oops... gotta get new glasses! 1 Quote

willatfisd1064[TK] Posted May 15, 2017 Author Report Posted May 15, 2017 Hi Guys Sorry it's been so long since my last post. Ended up with a last min holiday. Quick update It was suggested that I try to make my side shims more accurate by re working them But I decided to go for the weight loss instead (had already lost 4 stone before), so another 1/2 stone was my target. Once we came back from our trip I'd put a few pounds on But was determined to loose it again So the other week I took these pics (in the mirror) and was nearly there Remember guys these were taken by myself using a mirror According to the scales I've lost another 5Lbs, so fingers crossed. I have an event this weekend, and will get some better pics done (all of them) and post them for re submission Wish me luck Cheers Will. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted May 16, 2017 Report Posted May 16, 2017 Thank you for the update Will. I am very proud of you mate. You have taken the hard road to get this armour to fit you better and are to be commended for it. Look forward to seeing an update photos after your troop Quote
willatfisd1064[TK] Posted May 20, 2017 Author Report Posted May 20, 2017 (edited) Quick question I have a cleared DLT19 (with my UKG Sandtrooper) If I want to use it with my EIB / FISD application, would I need to re-submit it ? So it's cleared with FISD ? I'll be takings it on my Troop tomorrow (getting some pics with it) Just in case Thanks Will. P.s. As for the weight loss, I've lost 7 1/2 lbs whoop whoop Bring on the kit up Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Edited May 20, 2017 by willatfisd1064 Quote
