REPORT: We arrived at 2.15pm in plenty of time to change and be ready for the 3pm start, after speaking with Stu the organiser we decided it was just as easy to do a car park change due to where we would be walking.

We were asked to walk in front of the funeral procession while it made it's way through the cemetery to the chapel. This was a little bit of concern as it was quite windy, out wrangler Liz found a skirt was not the best item of clothing to wear and M'Lord had some trouble keeping his cape grounded. Never the less we all made it safely to the chapel and joined in behind the paul bearers to the sound of Star Wars playing in the background and escorted John to his resting place.

Troopers and M'Lord stood guard while John was fondly remembered by his family and friends, some very touching and funny stories and a few that enlightened his mother as to what John got up to as teen.

Once the guests had left the chapel we started to leave as we needed some air but quickly realised the family may have wanted some photos, which we soon found was definately the case. Lots of photos later with family and guests, most of them wearing either a Star Wars or Metalica shirt as requested as a mark of respect for John who was a massive fan of both.

Photo call finished the organiser thanked us for our attendance and we called it a day.

Being the first 501st attended funeral I have been to I found it to be one of the most rewarding troops to date.
