Tiderion Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 How does this work, exactly? Do you have to get approved centurion as a TK before you can apply for HWT? The requirements are different in some areas (including some things the TK needs that the HWT doesn't). Can someone elaborate on that process? Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 Good question, Ethan. IMHO, it's better to get your regular TK approved at Stunt level 3 first, then go on to HWT. Some things you will have to consider though are the canvas belt cannot have holes from the holster, and that no drop boxes are permitted, so I would invest in a new one. This way, you can bounce back and forth from shiny white to HWT easier. Quote
Tiderion Posted December 6, 2016 Author Report Posted December 6, 2016 Thanks Joseph. So you'd suggest a secondary belt for starters. If I'm reading the CRL correctly, the HWT also does not require a E-11 holster, correct? So other than optional battle-scarring, it's essentially the TK minus the Holster, vertical drop boxes, and Thermal Detonator with Pauldron, MP40 ammo pouches, and backpack added (with the additional 'requirement' of a larger weapon)? Is that correct? Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 A larger weapon is not a requirement at any level, (but they are sweet), LOL. You can carry an E-11 at level 3, but not a holster. A few things, though.. as stated in the CRL the pauldron must be of the "puffy" variety for level 3. Not all of them available out there are made like this. I will make a strong suggestion though, regarding packs. Many folks are really going to town with extra items such as video monitors, LED lights, crazy greeblies etc. These may make it past your GML, but they will not be allowed at levels 2 and 3. Everyone likes to customize their packs a bit, but the key word is continuity. When you have 2 HWTs at an event and their packs are way different, it takes away from the look. The CRLs are there for a reason. Quote
Tiderion Posted December 6, 2016 Author Report Posted December 6, 2016 Well on that note, I was looking at a few pack builds today, and kind of planning out one in my head, but I can't find any of them that really list the sources for the smaller parts. It seems like the oil changing pan is the way to go for the base, with attached straps from a back pack, etc for the straps, but is there a build out there that outlines exactly what they used for the smaller parts? justjoseph63[Staff] Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 Tony's (ukswrath) is pretty much the "go-to" thread for this build, Ethan. He describes all the parts you will need and where to source them. It is in 2 parts- http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/30034-hwt-backpack-build-part-1/ http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/30036-heavy-weapons-backpack-build-part-2/ My buddy Charles (Templar726) also has a great thread, in which he uses a thicker oil pan, which is what I used: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/30222-templars-hwt-pack-build/ If I can be of any help, just let me know! Great threads, thanks for the tips. I had been looking at Charles' post, but he didn't list all the details of the smaller parts so I was left wondering about those. The first two thread, wow, very very detailed. I am not a very crafty person, but I guess I'll have to pull it together for this. 1 Quote

Haven't started yet. Gotta get my armor straightened out, and will do the pack afterwards. Working on a parts list for the pack, but haven't bought anything yet. Quote
