Masking or painters tape. Lots of it. Go ahead and get the contractor pack.

I use it to mark my cut lines. Then I run my blade along the edge of the tape.and snap. After carefully sizing of course. Which it's also useful for. You'll go through more than you think.

That may do it.

I finished the original neck seal and made a second.
I closed the original with hooks and eyelets.
The second one, my bobbin thread got jammed so I had to undo part of that neck seal and restart. Happened twice, so I filled another bobbin and finished it.
I like the longer bib on the second one, but the first is much cleaner overall.
Neck seal. finished.
I may add some fabric to the original neck seal to increase the length of the bib.

edit this is the other neck seal not pictured abve

I have seen in some (older)threads about the screws that come with the kit for the helmet not being the correct size for centurian. I read a few more threads and after finding the correct size, went to ace and picked 6 of them up. The ones I purchased look like the ones that came with the kit. I haven't compared side by side.

went through and sesrched some threads so i could know which pieces were left or right. Biceps, forearms, thighs, shins, ears. I marked the left (i think) with blue tape. Now the fun part!
I am staring at the 4 shim pieces. Where do I cut? What do I do? All the build threads I have read in preperation and that is something i cant really find. How to do it so it fits me.
I will move to the TD. While I keep looking. It seems more cut and dry.

marked 21mm from the edge and 25mm from the edge. I used a dremel at the 25 mm line. Sanded off the rough plastic and then cut at the 21mm line with lexan scissors. I then sanded down to 20mm

In process of deburring the edges.

16105745_1414208071955160_29903070869473And perfect. (or close enough, not the best measuring device but it works)

16003265_1414208135288487_85159982965890
to have the edges straight i eyeballed the tape arround the edges (dont reccomend. It was crooked. Fixed in another post)

15965932_1414341228608511_10234866536547I found the dimensions for the cover plate? Control plate? White piece are to be 122mm. Where does the measurement start? Is there a certain distance from the bar and circle to the left or right edge? I will look through some build threads to see if I can find an answer. Worst case I eyeball it off of someones (or a few peoples) finished TD. Calling it done for the night and will pick it up tomorrow evening.

***edit
The measurements for the length of the white plate are incorrect at 122mm. Troopermaster gave me the dimensions of 115mm for the plate and 7.25 in for lendth of the td. This will be corrected later in the thread.

found the measurements I was looking for and will trim it tomorrow. I went with 13mm on the right side of the control bar, 123mm long (which I can trim down to 122), and i marked 90mm wide with black tape and layed white over that at 95mm with marks at 85. (i saw different widths) I will trim to 95 since it is super close to the mold lines.

I grabbed a holstter from a local member who is switching over to a sandtrooper. Great price and super quick shipping.

fore work I worked on the TD a little. I cut the cover plate down. I measured. Taped. Decided to cut.
The edges are more \ \ than I I. So my first mistake.
To correct it. I am going remove the tape from the pvc. cut paper to 180mm wide. Tape around the pvc. Then cut and sand so it has ends at 90 degress to the edges.
Then i will tape the cover on and mark the crooked area to be cut from one side. Build the other side back up with abs paste so it is at the 122mm width. Then sand and polish. So that part should be finished tomorrow. I will post pics of the screw up and in progress of the fix tonight and tomorrow. Small hiccup, but most things are fixable with research and time.

I had to run home at lunch so i did some measuring.
The plate is off ny 2mm on the bottom edge of both sides.
My strips to make the clamps/td holder.

I did a collage so i can post less links.

I was looking at ukwraths build and he used 115mm for the cover plate, if those numbers work i can trim mine down without having to rebuild the crooked part.

I'm going to double check that

after the cover plate was cut crooked, i decided to use a sheet of paper cut to size to set the proper angles on the end of the pipe.

it worked great

16113940_1415864711789496_66110341954043

A dry fit of the caps. Just a tad under the lines for 7.5 inches and at 186mm. For a dry run i will take it. Checking crl for final specs before i proceed.
