Gwithian Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 Firstly, I hope I have posted these questions on the right forum, please accept my apologies if I have messed up.

Had a good chat with Rob at RS prop masters today and I've decided to go with ABS plastic, my question now is do I build ANH lid and armour of ESB?

From my searching on the UKG and on here it appears that there are far more ANH troopers than ESB troopers, indeed the was also in the films. Does it matter when you are trooping if you are ANH, ESB or ROTJ trooper, or are there specific troops for each trooper? ESB is my favourite film, however having spent a lot of time researching I'm starting to rally like ANH. I'm also guessing that I could build ANH and then just change the lid, gloves and holster to swap to ESB? Does that sound doable?

Finally speaking to Rob about trimming down the chest and back for my short stature, he said when this was done for Luke they did not put the return edge back in on the back and chest, he suggested this was the easiest way for me to cut the armour to size, would that be ok for legion membership? But would it prevent EIB or Centurian application?

Again many thanks for your encouragement and the advice and tutorials that are on this forum and UKG

Stephen Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 First, you are in the right forum, Stephen, and no apologies needed! Even with hundreds of threads and thousands of posts here, there are always questions that are hard to find answers to sometimes, so you did the right thing by asking. As for your armor choice, it all comes down to a matter of preference between ANH and ESB. Yes, there are differences, but there are not specific troops for each. I have been at events where there are ANH Stunt, ANH Hero, ESB and ROTJ, all at the same time. As a rule, the general public does not notice those differences, and only sees Stormtroopers. I'm not sure if it would be cost effective to do the switching out thing, but that would be up to you. You would also need a new belt, as the ANH one will have the rivet holes in it from the holster. There are quite a few build threads here that concern shorter Troopers, which you could (and should) read over. Great to hear that you are aiming for EIB and Centurion, and I am sure there are ways to reach it even with trimmed down armor, so I wouldn't worry about that. You should also start a build thread here, so that as questions come up, they can be answered quickly. Be sure to post lots of photos when asking a question though. (We LOVE photos). It makes it much easier to help you when there are visual aids. RS is a fantastic kit, and if you have an unlimited resource here at the FISD to help, so take your time on the build and before you know it you will be out there trooping with the UKG! I would also recommend getting in touch with Chris, the Imperial Attache for the UKG, who can be a great help and offer advice as well. tkrestonva[TK] Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 It's definitely possible to switch out between ANH and ESB. I used to do so frequently before I found myself gradually gravitating full-time to ESB. Assuming your base kit is ANH, you would need the following extras: - ESB helmet - ESB gloves/gauntlets - ESB belt (can't use the ANH belt due to the visible fasteners supporting the holster) - ESB holster - ESB blaster 1 Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 Here is a great RS build thread for you to reference, Stephen: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38416-crickets-rs-stunt-build-for-the-vertically-challenged/page-1 1 Quote

tkrestonva[TK] Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 Not only is it ok to do a WIP thread here (as well as at the UKG), it is encouraged. All that I personally ask is that depending on what your primary configuration will be (ANH vs ESB), you put it in the correct section of the forum. 1 Quote
starsaber25[Admin] Posted November 22, 2016 Report Posted November 22, 2016 Hi Stephen. It is very easy to switch back and forth between ANH and ESB. I first built an ANH set and then I built the parts for ESB. I mostly troop in my ANH version but sometimes you just feel like switching it up. Like this weekend I've already made up my mind to go ESB at my troop. I just keep my ESB parts in my bin besides the helmet. 1 Quote
