Chivo - DZ4582, Wayne - TB20074, Mark - DZ04471, Kev - TD84000, Tahlee - TD84001, Peter - TS98311, Luke - IC36367 NON APPROVED COSTUME: Ken (Kylo) WRANGLERS: Em, Tracey, Liz, Matt GALACTIC ACADEMY: Alex REPORT: Troops and their family members started arriving from 3.30 onwards, most ready to go by time our event host came to collect us. We headed to our secret area for changing and with some time to spare took our time getting changed. We were ushered through the back lanes in readiness for the gates to open and the crowds to enter. We didn't expect the onslaught of younglings and their parents, many of which got into the spirit of the event and dressed in their favourite scary costumes. I would say most of the younglings had a sweet tooth as my trick or treat bucket was empty after the first 2 minutes. Troops dispersed around the zoo with many photos being taken with the public. We were asked to be grouped behind the stage @ 6pm for the DJ to play the imperial march and have us all walk around the stage, unfortunately just before this was to take place the skies opened and the rain came down. Looks of panic from the zoo's event host and our squad leader, parents and younglings running for cover, troops huddled where they could, under trees and in gazebo's, sorry to the family birthday party we crashed, I'm still waiting for my piece of cake too . Rain didn't last long and we ventured outside again, it was short lived, down came the rain once again, another look of panic on Liz's face seeing M'Lord followed by two soggy Jawa's walking across the grassed area with the rain falling down, luckily it didn't last long and our troops survived the downpour. Stage appearance went without a hitch, we then mingled in the crowds having more photos and a few troopers doing a little dancing. Getting dark and the sugar starting to overcome the younglings we decided to call it a night and head back. Unfortunately for our two Sandies the walk back took another 20 minutes being stuck by the over sugared comatose younglings. Even with the rain it was a great success, a big thank you to our squad leader Liz for organising this event, a logistical nightmare but a resounding success. INJURIES: A few grey hairs for Liz CASUALTIES: a few soggy troopers ARMOR REPAIRS: Some drying of costumes will be needed HAPPY PEOPLE: Those that stayed dry UNHAPPY PEOPLE: Those that got wet MISSION STATUS: Complete REPORT BY: TK85421 A few photos 3 Quote
