Garrett Steele Posted October 29, 2016 Report Posted October 29, 2016 I was watching TFA last night when I noticed that the stormtrooper who pats down Poe has a black painted shoulder pad. It is not a pauldron because you can clearly see that it is separate part of the armor and it moves freely when he moves. Of course when he and the two other troopers are escorting Poe and you can see the troopers from behind he now has a pauldron on. I am wondering if this is a mistake or if the shoulder pad was intentionally painted black so that it allowed for better movement in the shot. (much like how some of the troopers had fabric cod pieces when they ran down the loading ramp in the beginning of the film.) Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted October 29, 2016 Report Posted October 29, 2016 Interesting... I will actually be watching TFA this evening, and will definitely have a look. Thanks for the heads-up! Quote

The5thHorseman[501st] Posted October 30, 2016 Report Posted October 30, 2016 You still bring out an interesting point with the "fabric cod piece" thing. If you have clear pictures of that I'd be interested to see them, because to be honest I don't believe it. The codpieces for the TFA troopers are split from the abdomen and aren't strapped with the buttplates, so I don't see any need to replace them with fabric ones for mobility. Quote

Also the trooper behind the trooper with the chest rig who is just starting to come down the ramp has his codpiece beginning to bunch up in there the front.
