cwolfe[TK]
The shafts on the snap rivets is too long. I cut a couple down to practice with. How's this look for ab rivets? Painted of course.
illusionz_09[TK]
Looking good. I agree, the black series buckets are way too big... definitely makes the armor looks funny on you. As far as the ab "buttons" they look good to me. Keep in mind, that if you wish to go to Centurion Standards: Abdomen armor buttons are integrated and painted directly on the armor. No separate buttons are allowed. Just keep that in mind if you wish to shoot for more screen accurate buttons. Other than that, keep up the good work.
justjoseph63[Staff]
Hopefully you will be shooting for Centurion, Curtis. Unfortunately, I don't think that double cap rivets will be allowed on the ab plate/ kidney connection for level 3. The heads on those are more rounded than the split rivets, which are almost flat (see photo). To be screen accurate, the only place you should need the double caps are to connect the thigh ammo pack. If you need a set of the split rivets, just PM me and I'll shoot you them out to ya'. For better adhesion, be sure to sand the tops down before painting them. troopermaster
To be screen accurate, the only place you should need the double caps are to connect the thigh ammo pack. The capped rivets used on the original armour are 'single' capped rivets and they are used to hold the main ammo belt to the canvas belt and the elastics on the drop boxes, as well as the ammo strap on the thighs - 7 used in total. Just a friendly FYI

cwolfe[TK]
I'm thinking I'll be ok with the ammo pack. .The thighs themselves. I sized them and applied the back cover strip a couple nights ago. CW
illusionz_09[TK]
You may have cut a tiny bit too much from the ammo pack, but you should be fine. Remember, the ammo pack is applied with just split rivets (1 on each side painted white). No glue, it should no be stuck on.
Kacrut[501st]
...and you migth want to 'round' a little bit the tip of your thighs cover strip to prevent "armor bite" when walking/trooping

I don't know what got into me hacking off the ends without checking it first. Cap rivets is what I understood were used. CW
cwolfe[TK]
Still working on that thigh ammo pack. I've cut the curved edges. I applied some hot water and formed it around a coffee can. It's a little short, but I think it will be ok. cwolfe[TK]
Back to the upper armor for a change of pace. Bicep hooks. Not sure I really need them. Did some male snap pads. I calculate five per arm. Weekends over. Back to work tomorrow. I may be lucky to get a couple things done. My new shins should be arriving from WTF this week also. troopermaster
Not good. You have them laid out exactly as your current shins are assembled which are two inner halves and two outer halves paired together. The way you have them is R-L L-R.
