justjoseph63[Staff] Posted August 29, 2016 Report Posted August 29, 2016 GREAT job on the build, Manny! Your attention to detail is awesome, and I hope you will be aiming for Centurion next, but there are a few things I would suggest if I may... The first is that I would take a Dremel to the top left side of the left calf, so that it doesn't stick out above the sniper knee plate. Easy fix! Secondly, your shoulder bridges seem (in my opinion) to be pretty far forward on your chest plate, leaving almost no overlap onto your back plate. If (hopefully) you are shooting for level 3, you will need some more of it overlapping in the back order to attach the white nylon straps If in fact you find that you need to move the shoulder straps back, and you used E-6000, this should be a relatively easy fix. Just put the chest piece in the freezer for a couple of hours, and (VERY carefully) use a razor knife to remove them, and the excess glue should come off easily. You can then glue them back on in a better position. I look forward to welcoming you to the EIB ranks! P.S. Love the "movie accurate" shot! Quote
Daelma[TK] Posted September 1, 2016 Author Report Posted September 1, 2016 Greeetz Jo and thx for your service Knee Plate Problem done -checked- cutted out some of the innerside , so nothing can look out from the sniperplate ---- next step... shoulder bridges.... dont want to move back them ... movie original where 6 steps i have just five.... cant go any more less... would look in the front profile accurate... i found a other solution i double shorted up the elastiv strap before : after: so i have my five steps on the front plate ... and some steps on the backplate : and i added the White elastic strap : i hope that would be all THX Manny Quote
troopermaster Posted September 2, 2016 Report Posted September 2, 2016 What made you hack your shin like that? Quote

troopermaster Posted September 3, 2016 Report Posted September 3, 2016 That is some seriously BAD advise. I have never heard of anyone hacking their shins like that. Seeing the top of the shin behind the knee plate is quite normal. 4 Quote

Sly11[Admin] Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 Hi Manny Before I can get your approval done and dusted, could you please change the stitching on your hand plates to the correct pattern as per the CRL. Please see the image below for how it should look. CRL If silk or satin gloves are worn, the hand plates have the correct visible stitching pattern using black cotton, with a five point/star pattern, equally spread out with 2 on each side and 1 in the middle front, and needs to be double stitched at each point. Your stitching currently How it needs to be done Quote

And yet the picture you use for five bars on chest reference has the white strap, and the pic showing no white strap doesn't have five bars on the chest. If you're making a specific trooper that's great. Make a specific trooper at basic approval. If you want the advanced tactics badges which are obviously put together from the best facets of the troopers in a given episode, then build a suit to those specifications. Saying your just doing something to collect a badge then removing it to suit your personal preferences...well is a waste of the DOS time, a disservice to people who've earned the badge and are proud of it, and make me just disinterested in your build anymore. Too bad. Good esb suits are nice to see. The other costumes you have are just Laurels. Don't rest on them. Edited September 18, 2016 by sylverbard Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted September 19, 2016 Report Posted September 19, 2016 Hey there Manny, thank you for your application for Centurion, lets get to it!! CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All required photos are present and your armor meets all requirements as set out by the level 3 CRL. With that UK and myself would like to congratulate and welcome you to the Centurion ranks. Great job. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Everything looks great, and your armour fits you very well. My concern is only that you unfortunately cut away the shin behind the sniper plate unnecessarily. If you are ever in doubt about advice that is given, be it from your garrison friends or troopers here in the detachment, regarding your armour, it is always best policy to check with Tony or myself via PM. We will always have your best interest at heart and never instruct anyone to cut away parts of armour unless it is absolutely necessary and fitting with the word of the CRL. Fantastic job all round and Congratulation once more on reaching Centurion rank Quote

The5thHorseman[501st] Posted October 20, 2016 Report Posted October 20, 2016 Congrats on your Centurion Manny! You did a fantastic job with the armor. But god.. I must say I really cried when I read about that shin "advise"... Too bad you were so fast to follow it before true experts could told you not to do that. 1 Quote
