Millar007[501st] Posted August 29, 2016 Report Posted August 29, 2016 Hi all - tossing up the idea of converting my TK to either a TD or a HWT. Initial thought is actually to go HWT (less work - get the BFG - T21 - some pouches and the Paulrdon) and if I decide, to then go down the TD path. However, my question is "is the backpack the same" (albeit a bit more dirty for the TD). Any input appreciated! Quote
T K[501st] Posted August 29, 2016 Report Posted August 29, 2016 The packs are totally different. Quote
T K[501st] Posted August 29, 2016 Report Posted August 29, 2016 Also note that there are different configurations of backpacks for TD, depending on what trooper your basing your costume on. Ant that the TDs in the special edition also a different style backpacks. Quote
SheaJeff[TK] Posted August 29, 2016 Report Posted August 29, 2016 I thought about doing the same thing and quickly realized they are nothing alike. If I convert to TD later, I'll need to build a new pack. Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted August 29, 2016 Report Posted August 29, 2016 HWT is much easier and cheaper to go to, not only that it's not permanent. If your buy a separate waist belt or have your drop boxes and holster attached with snaps you can change from TK to HWT, or visa versa with minutes. If you go TD it's permanent. 4 Quote
Millar007[501st] Posted August 29, 2016 Author Report Posted August 29, 2016 Cool, obvious really. Thanks for the input... Thinking HWT is the way to go... As someone who is challenged with time for building a pack, anyone out there sell these? 1 Quote
justjoseph63[Staff] Posted August 29, 2016 Report Posted August 29, 2016 No one that I know sells them, Jefferson, but if you can build a set of armor, you can build a HWT pack. In my humble opinion, 2 of the best HWT pack builds are Tony's (ukswrath) http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/30034-hwt-backpack-build-part-1/and Charles', (Templar726), http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/30222-templars-hwt-pack-build/ I did a mash up of the two, and it came out pretty nice. 3 Quote

allan1313[TK] Posted August 30, 2016 Report Posted August 30, 2016 A lot of us here went HWT, myself included, because of the versatility Tony mentioned. It basically becomes 2 costumes in 1. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk 1 Quote
ComradeDave[TK] Posted September 27, 2016 Report Posted September 27, 2016 That's why I'm doing this too. I can easily go from anh, back to esb, and my current goal hwt. Really excited! Anyone know if quartermaster is still making packs or does anyone know another maker? Quote
