m3ntor Posted July 27, 2016 Report Posted July 27, 2016 Hi folks, I've finally started build my E-11s. I figured if I'm going to build one, then why not two? The barrels are made from 36mm OD PVC pipe, based on the plans in the 'best blaster templates' thread. I'll be juggling between those plans and the BBC RotJ plans throughout the build. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 27, 2016 Report Posted July 27, 2016 Looking forward to the progress Quote
m3ntor Posted August 14, 2016 Author Report Posted August 14, 2016 I've made some progress. The magazines are more or less done. I've just got to add a few of the details on the bottom. I think the screw head stem might be a little tall for RotJ, but I'm not too worried at this point. The end caps are done. I've made a start on the rear sights. Forward sights. U-rails. Forward D-rings. I was making the D-rings out of Al rod, but unfortunately the last one broke as I bent it. I had to drill out a plastic rod to insert a paperclip and bend that. It has a slightly smaller diameter, but it works. I've also started on making some handles. Aside from sanding down the handles I've got to wait until I get more plasticard to continue. Quote
The5thHorseman[501st] Posted August 31, 2016 Report Posted August 31, 2016 Wow, very impressive scratch build so far! Very good choice about the 36mm OD pipes that's pretty much what the original MGC are. Here are some more reference pictures for the magazine well area as I think this one could be improve a bit: 1 Quote
m3ntor Posted December 2, 2017 Author Report Posted December 2, 2017 Hi, so, turns out I'm terrible at posting updates. However, in the meantime I've made a fair amount of progress. Short of a couple of screws and a missing hex screw I think I'm ready for paint. Quote
m3ntor Posted December 20, 2017 Author Report Posted December 20, 2017 Ok, I'm calling these done. I'm really happy with them, and it was a really fun project. Thanks everyone for all of the help and inspiration! Quote
