gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 3, 2016 Report Posted July 3, 2016 Time to add some more options for my FOTK, time for a vest build. There are a few difference between screen shots and some of the Hot Toys photos which I'll try to replicate Started by enlarging some screen shots on the computer to get rough dimensions and make templates. Transfer template to cardboard Templates of pouch pieces Cut out material Start assembling pouches and add velcro to back pieces to attach Centre pouches Top pouches Add adhesive paper for strength on back sections then sew together Working velcro spacing Velcro added Pouches attached 2 Quote

dejango[TK] Posted July 3, 2016 Report Posted July 3, 2016 Cool! Are those your original blue prints? Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 3, 2016 Author Report Posted July 3, 2016 Cool! Are those your original blue prints?Yes they are my own, measurements taken from screen shots and Hot Toys figure. They may not be 100% accurate as there aren't many screen shots, but will do me for now until more are posted or found. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 4, 2016 Author Report Posted July 4, 2016 Started on the strapping, have to make do with a few of the pieces I am going to use as there are not a lot of detailed screenshots available, but from what there is there are a lot of differences with the Hot Toy version, will use E6000 on most pieces so I can make changes once more details are available, I doubt it is going to be 100% accurate at this stage. Purchased some clips and locking strips through FISD, need to make some changes as there are some differneces from the screenshots. Just pinning everything for the moment until I make adjustments. 4 Quote

gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 5, 2016 Author Report Posted July 5, 2016 Thanks guys. As per usual the more you research the more you find, drain holes in the bottoms of the pouches and usable elastic straps. Fabric straps on the main harness and will need make some changes to the clips Quote
ukswrath[Staff] Posted July 5, 2016 Report Posted July 5, 2016 Yea pretty much the same setup as mine 1 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 5, 2016 Author Report Posted July 5, 2016 I've noticed the clips on top of the teeth section looks more angular than a D pattern so I'll modify some clips to match. Also found some gromets to paint black and use as drain holes in the bottom of the pouches Clip trimmed And glued Cover plates trimmed Attaching these with velcro to the pouches so adding some pieces of ABS to fill the recess Harness clips trimmed 1 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 6, 2016 Author Report Posted July 6, 2016 Have cut one tooth from the adjusting strap and also trimmed an angle on to the locking piece of the clip, will hold in position better Velcro glued to inside of cover plates Paint applied 1 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 6, 2016 Author Report Posted July 6, 2016 Drain eyelets and adjusting clips painted Buckles attached to adjuster straps Elastic loops attached, straps and pouches fitted 2 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 7, 2016 Author Report Posted July 7, 2016 About to add the drain holes but looks like they are also present on the outer pouches, bit hard to make out, seems to be two of them and smaller than the centre pouches, I may have to leave these until I can find a better reference. Thanks Walter Pouch drain eyelets attached, harness clips glued, and cover plates attached. Gone about as far as I can with this until I can find more reference photos, very happy the way it has turned out, can't wait to get out and troop with it. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 8, 2016 Author Report Posted July 8, 2016 Extra pair of hands and final adjustments made on the strapping In screen shots it looks like a connector is present on the back cross over but again I will wait for better reference photos before I add anything there. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted July 14, 2016 Author Report Posted July 14, 2016 Fist troop and surprisingly comfortable Quote
