Hey Kalani, thank you for your EIB application. Let's get to it shall we.

CRL and EIB Application Requirements:

All required photos have been submitted. Your armor has met all the requirements for Expert Infantry. Sly and myself would like to congratulate and welcome you. Great job trooper :salute:

Other-Armor Fit/Assembly:

In this section Sly, myself or your fellow troopers would discuss observations to improve the overall final look of your armor, though none of the suggestions will effect your EIB status.

Your right shoulder bell to chest gap appears to be a bit wider than the left side. We suggest shortening the bell to shoulder attachment strap a bit. Easy fix ;)

Your ab appears to be off center. If you're using the ab as a anchor for your thighs be aware your thighs may be pulling it off center. You might want to suspend you thighs differently and see if the concern is remedied. :)

Eye sockets could use a little TLC, but not much. Maybe remove a bit more of the return edge in the center, upper lids of the eyes.

Gap between left ear and helmet. There's nothing wrong with having some gap but it looks nicer where left and right sides are similar. A little trimming may be in store. :duim:

Centurion Suggestions:

In this section Sly, myself or your fellow troopers may suggest required or recommended repairs prior applying for the Centurion level however, the accuracy it is ultimately up to the trooper.

The only area of concern, as stated in the CRL there can only be one seam on the kidney. This is a required element. A little more ABS paste should do it. :duim:

For level three certification (if applicable):

  • Ideally there no gap between the abdomen and kidney armor.
    • A single visible seam line is present.

That's it, just a few minor items and you'll be ready for Centurion. Great job Kalani and congrats. :jc_doublethumbup:

Thanks, Tony! All definitely things I plan (and have planned) to address. :) Going for Centurion for sure. Not in a big rush to get there, but I definitely will. ;)

The eyes have been annoying me, it actually has to do with the internal lens mounting "pulling" slightly. A minor tweak, when I have time to tear down the helmet.

I've noticed the ab offset as well, definitely on the to-do list. I have a separate garter for the thighs, so that's not the issue. Might just need to make a longer or shorter snap strap on one side or both.

I'll take a closer look at the helmet ears. Looking at the photo, I hope I can even gap that up. There's not a lot to take off along the bottom to snug that up. Maybe I can trim some off in the back, though, to help it lay flatter? The back is a smoother fit as it is, looking at the rear helmet photo.

For Centurion, yes, I definitely finally need to remove that one seam. Simple fix. :) And rebuilding the shoulder connections has been at the top of my list for a while anyway (which should address the uneven shoulder), since I have to tear out the Anovos shoulders and put in the white elastic for Centurion anyway. :)

But for now, thank you! Happy to cross this one off my list. :D

Yea that's why they're mainly suggestions. We want everyone to look their best but at the same time the final look is ultimately up to the wearer. As long as you're happy is what matters. At L3 we get a bit more detail and CRL critical. Great job

*I* want to look my best. Not quite an "accuracy junky" but not far from it. ;) So expert feedback is always appreciated. Thanks again!

Congrats on this build. I see you're very active in the FB Anovos page and wanted to see your shim work on the abs and kidney. Good job!

Good job. I just submitted my eib request.

I'll have to make the shim line disappear also if I'm going for centurion next so I guess we'll talk again here or on the anovos group on fb.

Late to the party as well, although I've known for a while you're now EIB, but wanted to congratulate you here all the same :D Also, I'm taking notes :) Now with a Kittell belt and soon with the latex hand guards!

Oh, that's right, I keep forgetting I need to glue on those latex hand guards, too, for Centurion, in addition to the seam removal. Extremely simple, of course, since I bought the hand guards a loooong time ago!

And thanks! :D
