FN-3181 Posted May 29, 2016 Report Posted May 29, 2016 Can someone enlighten me as to the difference between overlapping joints and regular. I am planning on building a tkc ,and I'm planning on going for centurion right off the bat. Quote
dejango[TK] Posted May 29, 2016 Report Posted May 29, 2016 It's somewhat self explanatory. One joint overlaps another Quote
T K[501st] Posted May 29, 2016 Report Posted May 29, 2016 (edited) ---------- For TKC... "For level three certification (if applicable): No return edge on the inside of the front of the forearm is allowed. Forearms use the overlap construction method. Using the butt joint and cover strips is not accurate." Edited January 4, 2021 by gmrhodes13 link not working, removed gmrhodes13 2021 1 Quote
FN-3181 Posted May 30, 2016 Author Report Posted May 30, 2016 If i may ask another question from the depths of ignorance what is a return edge? I'm sure it is super obvious but i discovered the 501st like a week ago. Quote
Holnave (evan_loh)[TK] Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) Nicely explained Aaron! Hi Nathan, to answer your question here's a pic: The "return edge" is the edge that extends out the end holes of the forearms in the picture above. Having no return edge means that those edges that extend over the forearm hole will have to be cut off/trimmed. Edited January 4, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photo updated gmrhodes13 2021 1 Quote
