Time to fire-up the Outpost and the troops - it's also time to take another ride on the TK Highway. Awwwww yeeeeah!

Having lost 34 lbs since sizing my ANH Hero for basic approval and finally getting the chance to troop (what a rush!) there's some changes that need to happen before I can go tapping on the door for approval.

My intent for this thread is to go over and review CRL's with reference photos. I will be using my version 2 - AP kit including the alterations I need to complete to my mission.

As always, I welcome your constructive opinion and wholeheartedly appreciate the help.

Now, let's get that Imperial power flowing and rock on the FISD!!!

Troopers helping Troopers WHOOO-WAH!!!

Looks like you certainly have your list to move forward Aaron.  When I put my armor together I never realized how a troop would have so much of an impact on how my armor was put together and the changes that needed to be made.  When I was building my armor I was certainly going for the "look."  Now the changes that I do make are for functionality.  But you would never get that the first time you build an armor set.  Dare I say that sometimes you may push the limits of the CRL's especially for centurion so that you can wear your armor more comfortably and have it function better.  Good luck with your changes!

Here we go!:

The Kidney Plate Checklist:

"For 501st approval:

- A separate kidney plate is present, split from the posterior armor.

For level two certification (if applicable):

N/A

For level three certification (if applicable):

-Squared cut-out sections at the lower left and right corners of the Kidney Armor.

The cut out is roughly 22 mm tall from the bottom and 22 mm in from the side.

-Three rivets, approximately 5/16"(8mm) diameter, are present on the left side of the kidney plate.

Note: The original rivets used for the TK armor were bifurcated rivets or split rivets.

-Rivets are equally spaced along the depth of the armor and about 10mm from the edge.

The heads are rounded or domed.

Note: Paperclip brads are not considered to have a domed head.

-Rivets are painted white.

Here is the link for the rivets I'm using:

First removing the rivets so that I can take off the extra abs from the kidney extensions.

I used a pair of wire side cutters to fold the tails back to the center.

Saturday Night and time to get those TK fists rocking in the air

https://youtu.be/DnUmMVO8rW0

Going over my armor and reference photos last night I spotted a couple other corrections that need to be done and revised my list.

Moving forward - more progress on the kidney!

I removed the rest of the fasteners that secure the kidney to the ab, and began to pencil in my new measurements with a new 22mm X 22mm notch on both sides.

I gotta get a move on too as I have a troop next weekend!

The notches still need some TK TLC with some paste, filing, and sanding to replicate return edges again.

Hahaha....... Didn't think it would be long before you started tinkering with it again!

With the extra ABS behind the kidney notch is it possible to just spread some paste along the edges to get your return...since the plastic is probably 3-4mm thick there? All that work on filling out that notch area in your earlier build...
