itsARIANbtw Posted May 20, 2016 Report Posted May 20, 2016 (edited) So originally I wanted a helmet to wear for the TFA premier due 2,5 month at the time, and since I live in Indonesia the shipping will be very painful and so I don't bother buying an approved helmet (yes I know, I was a bit blinded back then) and contacted a local helmet cosplay builder. I contacted the guy that I want ANH Stunt helmet and gave all the details I could find (mostly from starwarshelmets.com) and off he go. Of course the deadline can't be fulfilled in 2,5 months (it was unrealistic anyway that it can be done in that time) but he did want to rush it so it can be finished just in time for the premier, worrying the details would be off so I said no. 6 months later, the helmet is finished. Now this guy wanted to know what do you guys think about it So here's what he did to the helmet: Fiber Casted Hand painted stripes and traps Lens in Green and dark in normal light condition Ear bars are seperate and screwed in place http://i.imgur.com/6LvU6tk.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/MW2AAwP.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/5tpdja2.jpg (The stripes are blue, but poor lighting led the camera to saturate the colors) ------------ I could provide you more pics, but the helmet was damaged due to shipping even though the helmet was well padded in packaging, however the guy would make me another free of charge (not yet built) So what do you guys think? What can be improved? Edited January 4, 2021 by gmrhodes13 link not working, removed gmrhodes13 2021 Quote
ABS80 Posted May 20, 2016 Report Posted May 20, 2016 (edited) To be honest its totally inaccurate and weird looking, not sure how much you paid but I'm sure you could have had a much better helmet for same price, and another reason not to by fiberglass you drop it and it will crack in your case it cracked during shipping vacuumformed ABS helmet are more solid and more comfortable to wear than fiberglass.
